Until 2 days

I wanted to visit 21_21 design sight at Roppongi. I went there twice last year to watch Shunji Yamanaka's exhibition "骨". At 21_21 design sight, they are now in the exhibition of Naoto Fukasawa's exhibition. This exhibition have started on 16th October. I've wanted to visit there since October... lol

I believed that I can go there until its end but... I only have 2 days...
Maybe, I cannot go there until the ending...

Naoto Fukazawa's exhibition "THE OUTLINE: THE UNSEEN OUTLINE OF THINGS" will be finished its term on 31st January. But there are upcoming exhibitions... From 13th February, the new exhibition "Christo and Jeanne-Claude LIFE=WORKS=PROJECTS" will start. I think, it's looks interesting so I will go if I can... lol

Thank you.

Big America?

I think, there are too many articles, news, blog post and etc that about "iPad". So, I'm not going to write about "iPad" today... lol

McDonald's Japan is now in campaign "Big America". I don't know why they chose this name but they are now selling "Texas burger". Photo on top is the "Texas burger" that I ate today. I think, it looks different form the McDonald's Japan homepage. You can check the promotion photo from "http://www.mcdonalds.co.jp/beef/bigamerica/menu/index.html". But I don't care about that... lol

They have 3 more burgers to sell but we need wait a little bit. These are all limited offer. Anyway, I like the taste of "Texas burger" and if I can, I want to try other burgers... lol

Other 3 burgers are "New York", "Hawaiian" and "California" but I can't imagine these taste...

Thank you.

When the printed media would disappear

I don't think the printed media would completely disappear but it's tough to survive for a long time, I think. I'm writing this article because I heard some rumors that Apple will introduce their new device at 3am (JST).

I think, the printed media are really useful to write down something on it, to cut favorite stars' photo out from it, fold origami and etc... But it will be tough to move it when we compile day by day... Also it's tough to bring a lot of books, newspapers, dictionaries and etc...

If we can buy some books and download these on the internet, the cost for logistics and print will be unnecessary. So, we might be able to buy some books at cheaper price.

But I don't think e-book readers are the best answer. I think, it's tough for my eyes to read books via display. If I read books via e-book readers, I might be more tired than printed media. I might not be able to rent favorite books to my friends. I can't read books when the battery run out.

Anyway, these are all armchair theory because I've never used e-book readers. So, back to the real life, I'm not only interested in Apple's new device. For instance, I'm interested in Sony's e-book reader and Amazon's Kindle too. (And maybe "nook".) But I can't buy Sony's e-book reader here in Japan... Also I can't buy "nook" in Japan because there is no "barnes & noble" in Japan. (I think, most of Japanese don't know what is barnes & noble.) I can buy Kindle through the internet but I want to foretaste actual Kindle at the store before buying this.

According to some sources, I have to wait more to buy Apple's new devices in Japan. I'm not insider of Apple so I don't know the 'true' reason, but this might because of the contents, I felt. There are not so many digitalized books, magazines, newspapers and etc in Japan. But I hope that I can buy the one as soon as possible here in Japan... lol

Thank you.

They will be back soon

I think I posted about Chemistry test before. Maybe it was November (?) but now the final examination for this term will begin in a few weeks. I forgot why but the chemistry teacher told us to hold an examination tomorrow.

I'm not good at Chemistry and I couldn't take good score at the previous examination (mid-examination), so I need to study hard for it... I think it's too late to start studying for tomorrow's examination but I should do that...

So, I will start to read Chemistry's textbook on the train until I will arrive... lol

Thank you.

alpha blogger

Do you know "Alpha blogger"? It's totally Japanese-English words, it means bloggers who have influential. Maybe most of people know the meaning of "blogger" but I will write about that. It means people who are writing web log. Maybe you think that they have influence for politics, but Japanese alpha bloggers don't have influential for politics, I think.

There is the award for alpha bloggers. I heard that name first time but I heard they have a long history. "Alpha blogger award". They have started the award since 2004 and now they are accepting the vote for Alpha blogger award 2009 nominees. Of course, I'm not alpha blogger so I will not be nominated such an awards but there are 68 bloggers nominated for the Alpha blogger award 2009. The voting will be closed on 22nd February and the winner will be announced on 24th February.

If you are interested in Japanese bloggers who have influence, please visit their site and vote for it from "http://alphabloggers.com/". But be careful, most of the blogs that listed on nomination page are written only in Japanese, I think.

Thank you.

Avatar

Many people suggested me to watch Avatar in 3D so, I went to cinema yesterday to watch Avatar! I think, I had not watched movie at cinema for about 3 years! I like watching movies but I hadn't watched movies at cinema because it price is really high! I need to pay 1,500 yen (about 15 USD). This is price for college students. I heard the prices in other countries before, and these were mostly less than 1,000 yen (about 10 USD). Please tell me if you know the price of movies in your place.

Anyway, I went to cinema by bicycle. It took about half an hour to get there but I could get a seat easily. I chose this cinema because there are not so many people to watch movies. It means I can get a seat easily. I think, there are too many cinemas around that place, so there are not so many people to watch cinema there.

BTW the Avatar! I felt the 3D in Avatar was really great!!! The subtitles were also in 3D!!! But story.... It's a hollywood movie... lol
I believe that we must watch Avatar in 3D at cinema! I felt the most biggest problem is glasses. The glasses tired my eyes...

Thank you.

warm on the coldest day

Yesterday was "大寒(Daikan)", it means the coldest day in a year. It's still in coldest season in a year but I felt it's not so cold. Last week was really cold but yesterday and today is not so cold. It's like spring.

But according to some weather forecasting services, this warm days will not be continued so long time. It might be rained this evening and after that the weather will back to winter, I heard.

Yeah, we are in January so it must be cold, but most of people prefer warm days like yesterday, I think. Anyway, I hope it will not be rain today because I'm going to go to cinema by bicycle. I can go to other cinemas on foot or by train but I prefer that cinema because there are not so many people at that cinema. I can go there by train but I need to transfer to get there, take much time to go and its cost is expensive...

Thank you.

Powerful No.2 of Japan

I surprised when I heard that, the research company of the United States elected Ichiro Ozawa(小沢一郎) as No.3 at their report "Leaders to watch 2010". I heard this news on TV first time and I checked the company's homepage. The research company's name is "Eurasia Group". Do you know "Eurasia Group"?

Maybe they are famous and reliable research firm, but I've never heard their name before... Anyway, Wen Jibao is No.1 and Barack Obama is No.2 according to their report. You can check this report from "http://eurasiagroup.net/pages/leaders-to-watch".

Ichiro Ozawa is not prime minister of Japan, Yukio Hatoyama is prime minister of Japan now, but they chose Ichiro Ozawa. I think, they are correct. Yeah, Ichiro Ozawa is No.2 in Japanese government but he is more powerful than Yukio Hatoyama. How do you think?

I won the sparkling liquor!

I don't know how long they broadcasted their commercial messages that about "new year paper-rock-scissors game(新春国民的じゃんけん大会)" but I won that game. I needed to send my choice on the internet to join this game. I chose "rock" at this time but I forgot about that until today.

Today, I received a case from Sapporo breweries. In that case there are 12 cans of sparkling liquors. Also there are testimonial and plaque, but I need to build plaque from its cardboard case. Of course, I don't have to build testimonial because it's paper... lol
I may build plaque but not yet...

I've never drunk this "麦とホップ(mugi to hops)" but according to the company's copy "You might mistake this one for beer". Yeah, this is not beer but it's like beer. I will try this maybe this weekend...

Thank you.

Cold for a week?

I'm not talking that this week is really "cold". Of course, it's really cold these days but today I'm going to write about my cold. I caught cold last Tuesday. It's almost a week but I'm still in cold.

I don't think it is because of H1N1 because I don't have fever. Just bad cough and runny noise. It's really difficult to breathe... I don't want to wear mask, but these days I wear mask not to infect other people.

Maybe I need sleep... lol

illy's canned coffee

Do you know "illy"? Illy is a bland of coffee produced in Italy and I think many people know that name. I want to buy illy's espresso maker...lol

These days, I found the canned coffee that labeled "illy" at the supermarket. There were only 2 flavors. One of them is "CAFFE ESPRESSO" and another one is "LATTE MACCHIATO". I bought both of them...lol

After I came back, I got that these canned coffees are selling only in Tokyo. I don't know in other countries. But if you want to buy this in Japan, you must go to supermarket in Tokyo. I don't know why they sell in limited areas, but they might start selling this products in other areas, I think.

Of course, I tried both of them and write about this products. I prefer "LATTE MACCHIATO". But if I want to drink hot coffee or black coffee, I don't order both of them. I will go to coffee shop or boil water for coffee by myself.

BTW I felt these are little bit expensive for canned coffee. I paid ¥190(about 2USD) for each canned coffee...

Radio + video

I love to listen to the radio I usually turn on the radio when I wake up. I think, I wrote this kind of post before. I don't know when but some programs and some DJs started to use Twitter like me. Of course, I followed them and I could know that I can watch the radio show on the Internet. I've already known that I can listen to some radio program through internet. Now I can watch their video on live too!

Do you know the "Ustream"? I didn't know about that and I've never used that one... So, I tried to use that on my MacBook. I watched some radio programs. It really nice because I can watch what they are doing during commercial messages and songs. But there's one big problem...

That is my MacBook's spec, I think.

During I'm watching these videos my MacBook's fan works hard and sometimes the video moves slow... Of course, I can watch the video but I want better one to watch in good conditions. I want to buy new MacBook Pro but I don't have much money...

Thank you.

snow

I didn't know that it was snow in Tokyo because I was in Chiba prefecture yesterday. I heard that the snow flied about an hour and it was rain fell after that. So, there's no snow today. I went to Chiba prefecture at morning and came back to Tokyo after noon. The snow flied around noon so I couldn't see the snow...

According to some sources, it was the first snow in Tokyo in this season. I missed this first snow yesterday... And it was really cold yesterday, but today was good weather and windy.

Also I caught a cold... Maybe it's because of yesterday's cold weather but it's OK.

Nikumaki Onigiri

These days, I'm using Twitter as I wrote before and I'm trying to tweet once in a day. I think, it's tough and sometimes I forgot to tweet... lol

I got the information about souvenir of Miyazaki prefecture (宮崎県) on Twitter. He told me that we can buy "肉巻きおにぎり(Nikumaki rice ball)" in Tokyo too. "肉巻きおにぎり(Nikumaki rice ball)" is one of the souvenirs of Miyazaki prefecture. I didn't know about that but he told me that.

Last week, I went to the shop that we can buy "肉巻きおにぎり(Nikumaki rice ball)". It was really delicious and I want to try this again! If you have a chance to eat "肉巻きおにぎり(Nikumaki rice ball)", you should try this! The photo on top is the "肉巻きおにぎり(Nikumaki rice ball)" that I ate last week.

Back to the college

After about 3 weeks of winter holidays, today I went to the college to take some classes. My short winter holidays had already gone... But I have 3 days off from tomorrow. I will back to winter holidays... lol

Anyway, I went to donate blood on Thursday. This is third time to make a blood donation but this became my first time to make a blood donation not on car. I made a blood donation on mobile blood donation unit at first time. I also made a blood donation on mobile blood donation unit at second time. These are because I don't have a much chance to make a blood donation without changing my driving license cards... lol

The mobile blood donation unit is in front of the license centre when I go there. So, I made a blood donation twice in this place. But yesterday, I went to another place and it was not mobile blood donation unit...

I felt it's better to make a blood donation in such a centre because I didn't take a long time to donate.

Thank you.

End of Matsunouchi(松の内)

During 1st January to 7th January, we are in “松の内(the first seven days of the year)”. Most of Japanese visit shrine in this period to wish their health, peace and etc for whole year. I’ve visited on 2nd January in this year and I drew a paper fortune. I draw a paper fortune every year to hear a fortune during the year. But I don’t believe it, just think about it... This year’s result was “中吉(middle lucky)”. The best result for paper fortune is “大吉(very good lucky)” and the worst result is “大凶(great misfortune)”. So, it’s good!

If we visit 7 shrines in this period, we can grant 7 requests. But we must visit 7 shrines of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune. I’ve never been to do this before. Never. But I want to do this someday.

In the end of Matsunouchi, “門松(Kadomatsu)” a pair of pine decoration, and other decorations will be replaced. I heard Matsunouchi was until 15th January in olden times but now it is until 7th January.

Anyway, I felt Matsunouchi of this year was different from usual one. Some people were tweeting in Twitter, so many Japanese felt so I think. I don’t know exactly why but it maybe because of short holidays. Maybe most of office workers started their job on 4th January, I think it’s too short. How do you think?

Thank you.

Maybe, it's good to walk around with new shoes... I may go... lol

Do you know "生キャラメル(nama-caramel)"? The nama-caramel is caramel but it use rich fresh cream. Some medias especially TV programs introduced this again and again. I got tired to watch these kind of TV programs last year...

Anyway, I ate this yesterday first time. It was so soft taste and it's sweet but I prefer usual caramel... lol
Have you ever tried this?

Welcome 2010

Happy new year, everybody! It's 2010!!
How was your holidays?

Yesterday, I enjoyed watching Hakone Ekiden on TV with Yebisu beer... lol
Hakone Ekiden is one of the most famous Ekiden race in Japan and it hold on 2nd January and 3rd January. Well, I write a little bit about "駅伝(Ekiden)". Ekiden is the relay race on the public road. In the Hakone Ekiden, the runners go to Hakone from Tokyo on 2nd January and they go back from Hakone on 3rd January. I think, distance between Hakone and Tokyo is about 100 km. 20 teams join this race but runners are all university students. The team of Toyo university won this race both 2nd January and 3rd January. I love to watch this race in New Year.

Anyway, this is my first post in 2010. I want to write my declaration.

1. I will read over 100 books in this year!
I didn't declare this last year but I think, I will do this in this year! Of course, I'm going to read Japanese books...

2. I will new things!
I started to use Twitter again, these days... lol
I bought new bicycle last year! ... well, I will act more quickly in this year!

3. I will improve my language skills!
I'm talking about not only English. Of course, I want to improve my English but I want to improve my Japanese too.

4. I will be morning person!
I wrote about this before, but these days... I will be morning person this year!!!

5. I will keep posting this blog!
Of course, I will... lol

I believe that I can post the article that I could clear all these things in December, 2010...

Thank you.
