2 tests

Today I applied for two examination and I payed these fee. One of them is TOEIC test. I decided to take TOEIC test in September then I applied for it today. Another one is Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination(基本情報技術者試験). I didn't know about this examination because the organizer changed the name of examination these year.

I knew this examination as Systems Administrator Examination but organizer changed its name and system. Of course, I need to study for it but the examination is in October, so I would be able to get ready for that.

And I studied about these subjects at my college (of course, not for this examination) then all I need to do is just review most of subjects that I've taken at the college and study other subjects that I've never taken before.

I'll post the result of both TOEIC test in September and Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination(基本情報技術者試験) in October.

Thank you.

Iced coffee

Weather is not so good these days. But sometimes, sun appear. And very hot and humid. In these hot and humid climate, iced coffee is really nice I think.

It is easy to drip iced coffee then I drink it every day... lol

Before I post this article, I searched about the Iced coffee. Then I found that iced coffee don't have such a long history in the world. But in Japan it's a little different.

According to the Wikipedia, iced coffee of Japan first drunk in 1920. And this iced coffee became canned coffee. Canned coffee is popular in Japan we can buy it anywhere in Japan I think. But I don't really like canned coffee. If I drink canned coffee, I would go to Starbucks Coffee or other coffee store.

But I don't know there are canned coffee in other country....

Thank you.

I'm on test week but I don't have test tomorrow, then I took a little break... lol
I went to bicycle shop to check some bicycle. Now I'm thinking about to buy new bicycle. Of course, I won't buy Penny-farthing.

I'm planning to buy road racer or cyclo-cross bicycle. But these bicycles are expensive... I must choose my new bicycle carefully...
When I decided to the bicycle type, I will post about it on my blog...

Thank you.

test week

Until next Monday, we are in the season of final examination for this term. In this week, I have 6 examination and I took one today. I think, tomorrow would be the hardest day for me. Tomorrow’s tests are English and data processing (neural network). I’m not so worrying about English but data processing would be hard one…

Of course, I’m studying for it but I’m worrying about that… I believe that all things that I can do for it is just study… Then I’ll study for that and do my best tomorrow.

Thank you.

crack on my MacBook

Yesterday, I found a crack on my MacBook… You can check the clack from the photo on top. I found this crack yesterday, but before that I found some cracks on the bottom panel. But the cracks on the bottom panel seemed be not so bad then I didn’t care about that. I heard about these cracks would happen in some MacBooks. I think, these plastic types of lap top computers are not so strong… If I can, I want to buy new one like aluminum covered MacBook Pro or something like that. I bought my MacBook in January 2008. It took about a year and a half, I think my MacBook is doing best job for my daily use.

But before that, I want to fix it. I searched the Internet yesterday and I found some cases like me. According to their experience Apple would fix it if I go to the genius bar in the Apple Store. Now I’m planning to go to Apple store to fix it. But… I’m in the season of examinations… I have some examinations next week… I have to study for it then I can’t go to Apple store right now.

Then it might be on the middle of August. Until then, I need to be careful when I use my MacBook. I will post about the fix when I would fix it.

Thank you.

Back to rainy season?

On 14th July, Japan Meteorological Agency announced the end of the rainy season in 関東甲信越(Kanto & Koshinetsu area). But these days, the weather in Tokyo (Tokyo is in Kanto area) is not good. Today was rainy. According to the weather forecast, weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday would be rain... I think, we are still in rainy season.

I don't know exactly when the rainy season would finish. But I felt like that...

Moon ate the sun

I could observe partial solar eclipse today! I couldn't take the photo at that time but I could observe it. But today was not so good weather. In fact, it was raining in the morning and today was mostly cloud...

I could observe it for just a moment... I had the class at that time, then me and my friends observed it before the class would begin. We couldn't observe it after the class...

After I came back, I found some articles about total solar eclipse in 奄美大島(Amami-oshima) and other island near Okinawa. Of course, I watched some photos. I couldn't observe total solar eclipse but someday I wanna observe it...

I observed the sun that like crescent moon....

Thank you.

moon will eat

Tomorrow will be the day that we might watch a solar eclipse in Japan. This will be the first time since 1963. And if we would miss it, we must wait for 26 years to watch a solar eclipse in Japan.

In some island near Okinawa prefecture, the moon would cover all of sun. But in Tokyo the moon would cover about 70%. If I could go to 喇列島(Tokara) or 種子島(Tanegashima) or 奄美大島(Amami-oshima), I would be able to watch a total solar eclipse. But I have some classes in my college and I had an examination today... Then I couldn't go there...

But I might be able to watch partial solar eclipse in Tokyo. Of course, this will be depend on the weather... It might be hard to watch a partial solar eclipse in Tokyo, because tonight's weather is rain and it will be cloud tomorrow morning (weather forecast said).

Thank you.

Potter

From Wednesday, Harry Potter's latest series "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is now showing in Japan and other countries. I'm not so interested in this film because there are too many stories. I forgot that which film I've watched... And how many stories of Harry Potter?

These days, Japanese TV stations on aired some of the stories. These were "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix".

Do you know exact number of Harry Potter series?

Thank you.

speech contest

Today I had a speech contest in my college. The title of my speech was "What is a professional?". I was third place in the speech contest.
This is my speech.

My favorite writer Haruki Murakami once said “I have come to Jerusalem today

as a novelist, which is to say as a professional spinner of lies”. He made this

speech at the 24th international book fair in Jerusalem in February. According

to his speech a novelist is a professional spinner of lies. Of course, not every

novelist is a “professional” spinner of lies. What is a professional, then?

There are many people who are professionals. For example, professional

baseball players; we can watch them play on TV or in the stadium and some of

us even aspire for professional baseball players. Professional writers; they give

us numerous kinds of books, magazines and mangas. Professional

photographers; they give us great impressions and show us the different views

of the earth through their photos.

But what is the difference? What is the difference between a professional

baseball player and an amateur baseball player? Some of us may aspire to

become amateur baseball players. What is the difference between a professional

writer and an amateur writer? Amateur writers may give us great stories or

funny stories. What is the difference between a professional photographer and

an amateur photographer? Amateur photographers may show us the different

views of the earth through their photos.

I once believed that only the professional can give us great impressions.

Especially it’s true for photographers. It’s hard to show their photos to many

people, I think. But now it’s not true. The internet changed many things. Now

amateur photographers can show their photos online through services such as

Flickr. This change is not only for photographers. For amateur writers, there are

many types of online services such as “Keitai Shosetsu” and blogs. Using these

online services, the differences between professionals and amateurs may get

closer. Moreover, these services might be the new gateway for amateurs to

become professionals.

I couldn’t find the big difference between a professional and an amateur. Then I

searched Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary for the meaning of

“professional”. According to that dictionary, “professional” means a person who

does a job that needs special training and a high level of education.

On the other hand, “amateur” means a person who takes part in a sport or other

activity for enjoyment or interest not as a job. According to the dictionary, the

biggest difference between a “professional” and an “amateur” is an amateur

does it for the enjoyment and a professional does it as a job.

There is a quote about professionals. An American writer Richard Bach said, “A

professional writer is an amateur who didn’t quit”. According to his quote, the

professional person was once an amateur themselves.

Of course, there are no people who are professional people by birth. Every

human being is an amateur person by birth. Everyone needs to do something to

become a professional. There are many ways to become a professional now, I

think. Some may post their novels online. Some may upload their photos online.

Some may try out for a professional baseball team. But all they have to do is not

to quit.

How about us? We are studying in the college of technology to get high level of

education. I think, we passed the first meaning from the dictionary. But how

about Richard Bach’s quote? If you want to be professional, we must not quit

trying to become professional. So, don’t give up. We can do it.

Thanks Chris!

Changed again

On 24th June, I posted about the case of my iPhone 3G. At that time I wrote I wanna change my case as soon as possible. If I could find better one, I wanted to change the case because the case looks cheap...

I could find better one but this type has no red color... Then I chose black one. You can check my new case for my iPhone 3G photo on top.

New my case for my iPhone 3G include macro lens filter! I couldn't read QR code with my iPhone then this would be very good feature for me. I wanted to try this macro lens filter's power.

After

After I went to the vote on Sunday, I went to the playhouse to watch the drama that my friend play. This was the second time to watch his play. And I met my old friends there. They were my classmates until this March but they are now working for company. But I'm still studying in the college then it was the reunion after 4 months of separation.

Anyway, the drama was really nice and I like it. And I always admire him because he is studying the same college and he's also playing in several drama groups and he works part time.

I hope that he can keep playing in drama. And I wanna check his drama again!

Thank you.

Cult

Yesterday was the day of metropolitan assembly election. I became 20 years old last year, then this was the first time to vote for somebody in the election.

DPJ increased 10 more seats than before, in the assembly. On the other hand, LDP lost over 10 seats in the assembly. New Komeito kept their all seats even they were in the side of LDP and one of the ruling party. This is because there are big cult behind them named Sokagakkai. I dont like them. I heard that some believers of Soka tried to force the people to vote for New Komeito. New Komeito is the part of Soka and Soka is one of the dangerous cult in Japan I think. And some would agreed with my opinion.

They are ignoring the principle of separation of politics and religion.

I think, this election is not right election.

More than 40% of voters didnt vote. They must think more.

Theres one more problem that this election have, I think. I didnt have to show my ID to administrators when I vote. Of course, if they do like that, the poll rates would decrease but they must think about goat voters.

Anyway, some media are now broadcasting about another political news. According to these news, Japanese prime minister Taro Aso also the leader of the LDP has decided to dissolve parliament. I heard that he will dissolve parliament next week. (Yesterday, I heard he would dissolve parliament on Tuesday.)

They would lost in the next election again?

Thank you.

3 films

Today would the best day for TV watchers in Japan. Three TV stations in Tokyo broadcasted different three films at the same time.
Some series of dramas have finished last month and other dramas would finish in this month in Japan. Then the TV stations don't have enough contents like drama.
Then they tend to broadcast films in these seasons.

They broadcasted "Tsuribaka nisshi 2(釣りバカ日誌2)", "Kencho no hoshi(県庁の星)" and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone(ハリーポッターと賢者の石)". Check these films on IMDb, you can access from the links.

mini mentos

In this box, there were 26 mini mentos. But now there's only 7 mini mentos...

This package included 4 types of flavors water melon, orange, strawberry and lemon. I think, mentos' water melon flavor was the best flavor in this package. Then they had already gone.. There's only 3 flavors now but strawberry and orange would go away soon. Then the lemon flavor would leave in this box...

I think, lemon flavor is not so bad but I don't want to eat it.
So, it might be difficult to eat lemon flavor...lol

Long beta life

My friend told me that Google replaced "beta" sign from Gmail and other Google services. Gmail was in beta version for a long long time, I think. I searched wikipedia about Gmail. According to wikipedia, Google released Gmail in 2004 as beta version and they left beta in 7th July, 2009. Gmail had been in beta version for more than 5 years.

Someone told me that Google updating Gmail day by day then Gmail would not leave from beta version. But his opinion was not true... Gmail left from beta. But this would not be the big change, I think. I hope that they will keep updating Gmail and other services day by day.

Thank you.

Good weather on Tanabata

Today is the day of Tanabata. If the weather would good, the couple can meet across the Milky Way. They can meet once a year only on the night of Tanabata day. Today was good weather then they can meet. Of course, this is kind of mythos in Japan.

But this season is the rainy season in Japan. Then it's rare that they can meet... This year too. Yesterday was bad weather and the weather forecast said that today's weather would be cloud. But today was really nice weather and today's highest temperature was over 30 degrees. These days the weather was not so good then today's nice weather was made me happy.. lol

I hope these weather would be continued...

web browsers

I will make presentation in the class tomorrow. Then I'm making powerpoint now... My theme is "web browsers". I've used Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer since I started to use computer. But I tried to use other browsers. Chrome, Opera and Lynx.

I could enjoy my research because I've never used text browser such as Lynx. Lynx is so different from usual web browsers.

I also searched about the usage of web browsers.
Internet Explorer 59.69%
Firefox 30.91%
Safari 2.99%
Chrome 2.91%
Opera 2.78%
Others 0.72%

But this is different from my blog's usage. I checked with Google Analytics.
Internet Explorer 39.89%
Firefox 34.00%
Safari 21.42%
Chrome 3.11%
Opera 0.96%
Others 0.64%

I think, this data include accident error because I sometimes check my layout from my computer with Safari. Then I think, the usage of Safari on my data is not true...

Anyway, I'll do my best on tomorrow's presentation.

transform

If I can, I wanted to upload the video but I couldn't do that... I think, I could record it but I couldn't play it... Then I can't upload it...

Anyway, do you know the film "Transformers"? This is a 2007 live-action film directed by Michael Bay. We can check the new series of transformers on screen now. In Japan, we've been able to watch the film "Transformers revenge" on screen since 19th June. I heard that the film couldn't become No.1 in the first week...

I've never watched the "Transf
ormers revenge" but if I have a chance, I wanna watch it. I watched the "Transformers" last year. Then I'll write about that.

I felt the film includes excellent CG and it was really awesome. But I felt also the film is too childish. The film is for kids... I've never watched "Transformers revenge" then this might be different but I think, "Transformers revenge" is also too childish...

Anyway, Yahoo! Japan loves "Transformers" too, I think.

If you searched "トランスフォーマー
!(Transformers!)" on Yahoo! Japan, the Yahoo! Japan will transform like the photos below.

I think, I should upload video but I couldn't take it well... Then if you have a time, try this. lol
You can access Yahoo! Japan from "http://www.yahoo.co.jp".
Or transformed edition from "http://promotion.yahoo.co.jp/paramount/"
But the service will be end on 5th July(JST).

Anyway, there are a lot of bloggers in the world I think. I heard that Japanese is the second largest language in world's blogs. There are a lot of blog services in Japan and many Japanese likes to post their blog like me... lol

In Japan, celebrities like to post their daily life. Today I found the news that one Japanese entertainer posted 231 articles to her blog in a day. Can you believe that?

She posted 231 articles in a day!!

I can't do such things...
Can you do that?
