England vs Japan

I couldn’t believe it when I saw the game on TV at the first time. I’ve forgotten about the football practice match between England and Japan. I turned on the TV and I found that they were broadcasting the game.
Why I couldn’t believe it because Japan was leading the game. I believed that Japan would lose that game by huge points.
Yeah, I know that it was “practice match”. And Japan finally lose the game, but I felt the game was the most interesting game that I’ve seen in these years (Of course, the game between Japan and other country).
Also I surprised that Tulio and Nakazawa earn the goal. lol
They are not FW and they shoot to the different side of goal net. I mean they made own goal...
Thank you.

iPad in Japan

Today is the release day of iPad in Japan. But I'm not planning to buy iPad yet. I might buy it but I don't know.

Many media are broadcasting the release of iPad. I don't know how many stores started to release it, but more than 100 stores in Japan started to sell it today. I didn't go to Apple Store Ginza, but I heard there were more than 1,200 people waiting the release time. (They started to sell it at 8 am(JST)) Also, there were more than 200 people waiting the release time in front of SoftBank's store at Omotesando, I heard.

I watched these people on TV this morning. Mostly they were broadcasting from Omotesando or Ginza. They interviewed to the first person on the line and he answered that he started to wait there on Wednesday evening. He was waiting for iPad in front of Apple Store Ginza about 40 hours!! I can't believe it...

Also I can't believe that the Sankei Shimbun carried an article about iPad on their front page. They are not gossip newspaper, but they carried the article on their front page... I think, there are a lot of news that they had to carry the article on their front page, but it's ok. lol

Thank you.

No to "twitter"?

Now Japanese government is talking about the amendment bill of the election. In Japan, candidates couldn't update their web pages, blogs, twitter and other internet services during the election campaign. I don't think this law is not fit with the times, and need to modify it. And they are finally talking about that.

I don't know exactly, but many media are broadcasting that the amendment bill will become effective soon, and candidates will be able to use the internet during the election campaign from this summer. I felt it's good news because candidates can talk their opinion easily and quickly on the internet. But we should care that some of the candidates might not good at using computers and mobile phones... And we should check web sites both right-leaning and left-leaning. We should choose it.

Anyway, I have one big question about this amendment bill. Why did they decide to request candidates not to use Twitter and mail magazine during the campaign. Yeah, according to the amendment bill, they can use Twitter during the campaign, but they should not use it during the campaign. According to some new sources, they decided to request it because twitter is easy to spoofing...

I think, there are many many ways to prevent spoofing on twitter. But they....

How do you think about that?

Thank you.

Nikkansen

"Nikkansen (日韓戦)" is Japanese words and that means the game with Japan and S. Korea. We used to say such as baseball game and football game. I think, South Korea is one of the nearest countries from Japan and there is not so much power gap between Japan and South Korea in sports. So, many people watch the game at the public viewing spots, at the stadium, or on TV.

And  yesterday, Nikkansen had being held at Saitama Studium 2002. It was the last game that the Japan national team play in Japan before the World Cup 2010. I didn't think Japan national team would win the game with South Korea National Team, because they are stronger than Japan national team, I felt. And the result was...

2-0

No goal...

I don't want to write about it anymore... But I hope they will make it at World Cup 20XX. lol

Thank you.

BOOK 3

Yeah, I'll write about Haruki Murakami's latest novel 1Q84 BOOK 3. In this weekend, I read 1Q84 BOOK 3 or I should say I read it on Saturday. In fact, I read 1Q84 BOOK 3 all day long on Saturday.

I read book 1 and book 2 last year. I think, it was 6 months or more ago. But I could read it easily, because I could remember the story on book 1 and book 2.

First of all, I like the story. I couldn't solve some mysteries on 1Q84, but these are features of Haruki Murakami's novel, I think. I don't want to write detail of the story, if you want to know, you should read it. If you like Haruki Murakami's other novels, you may like this book too.

Anyway, some media are saying that he will release 1Q84 BOOK 4, because Book 1 was the story between April and June, Book 2 was the story between July and September, and Book 3 was the story between October and December. So, they think Book 4 will be the story between January and March.

BUT I don't think so!
1Q84 is trilogy and I don't need book 4, I believe.

Thank you.

Will they go to the war again?

The war started long time ago, it was 1950. And this war is not yet greet the end. I don't know exactly, but they are in truce more than 50 years, I heard. Not war end.

Some media are claiming that "they might go to the war again". I hope not, but I felt they might go to the war again.

Yes, I'm talking about DPR Korea and Republic of Korea.

I'm concerning about this because Japan is located next to the Korean peninsula. I hope the Korean war will greet the end, not just truce.

Thank you.

no flags...

I surprised when I found the article that about there's no Japanese flag in front of Japan's pavilion in Shanghai World Expo 2010. I forgot when the exhibition started but I think, it's May 1st. At that time, there were no Japanese flags in front of Japan's pavilion, even Japanese government paid half of its cost.

Why?

I found the reason. According to the newspaper, they did not raise Japanese flag because they wanted to care for China's anti-Japan sentiment. But I felt there is a discrepancy.

If they really wanted to care for China's anti-Japan sentiment, they should not to open Japan's pavilion in Shanghai World Expo 2010. But they decided to open it. So, I don't think it was good choice that they did not raise Japanese flags in front of Japan's pavilion.

I think, many Japanese will agree with me. Also I found some tweets that some politicians, economists, and ordinary people. Mostly they think, it's not good choice.

Anyway, I don't know why, but they started to raise Japanese flags in front of Japan's pavilion from yesterday. I believe that they will not stop raising Japanese flags in front of Japan's pavilion until the end of Shanghai World Expo 2010 except bad weather. How do you think?

Thank you.

My review of google input method

I had been using "Kotoeri(ことえり)" since I started to use MacBook. After Google started to offer their own Japanese Input Method, I changed it. I've never used other input methods such as ATOK and "Kawasemi(かわせみ)". I will write a brief review on Google's Japanese Input Method.

I think, many people know that but Japanese language contains Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji(Chinese character). First we type Hiragana, and convert it into right type such as Kanji. But there are a lot of Kanji and some have same sound, so we make mis-type sometimes... Mostly it's depend on quality of Input Methods, I think.

Especially people's name is difficult to type in correctly. In that case, Google's IM works really nice, because it use their "google suggest", so they have great database on famous people name, I think. I can type famous person's name correctly with Google's IM.

Also, it works great when I type famous quote or proverb, because of same reason, I think. But sometimes it crash and need to reboot the system. I believe it will be improved soon because they are still in beta. And I have a problem when I type long sentences. Sometimes it cannot make out break point exactly. I felt it's better to use Kotoeri in this case.

Conclusions.
I felt it works nice mostly, but sometimes I met a bit mistake. Mostly it's OK and it's useful especially when I type famous person's name or famous quotes and etc...
BUT most important thing is that I've never used ATOK or other input methods except Kotoeri and Microsoft IME on Windows XP... If I have a chance, I wanna try other input methods... Anyway, it's worth to use Google's IM, because we can download it "free"!

Thank you.

I must give him my answer until Thursday, but I think, I will join. This might be the first photo exhibition to join... I'll write about that soon.

Plastic umbrellas

Do you usually use umbrella when it's raining? I usually use collapsible umbrella because it's compact and it's enough to when light rainy day. Sometimes I use plastic umbrella when heavy rainy day, but I don't think it is enough for heavy rainy day...

Many people think it's ok when they forgot plastic umbrellas somewhere else, I think. Because it's cheap, we can buy it about 300 JPY (about 3 USD) and it's really easy to find out the store that is selling plastic umbrellas on rainy day. That's why many Japanese are using plastic umbrella on rainy day.

It's easy to broke, but it's tough to repair. Also, it's not good for environment because it's tough to separate when we trash it. We should think about it...

Thank you.

"Change" his plan?

Last year, Yukio Hatoyama became Prime Minister of Japan. He could lead changes of government at that time. I believe that he love to use the word "change".

I wish to write about Futenma someday, but today I'm going to write about that a little bit...

He finally changed his opinion that he resolve the problem of Futenma. He said that he will finalize Futenma issue until the end of May again and again. But this week he said he extend the deadline.

I think, he will change his opinion again... Who will believe his word "trust me"?

Thank you.

World cup 2010

Next month, 2010 FIFA World Cup Soccer will be hold in South Africa. The Japan national team could pass the final round of Asia qualifiers. And Takeshi Okada the coach of Japan national team announced the list of 23 players that will make up the Japan national team for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

I watched it on my friend's mobile phone using one-seg. Here is the list of 23 players.

Eiji Kawashima (27)

[DF]
Yuji Nakazawa (32)
Marcus Tulio Tanaka (29)
Yuichi Komano (28)
Daiki Iwamasa (28)
Yasuyuki Konno (27)
Yuto Nagatomo (23)

[MF]

[FW]

Yoshito Okubo (27)
Kisho Yano (26)
Shinji Okazaki (24)
Takayuki Morimoto (22)

Takeshi Okada said that his team will be finished four in World Cup before. Most of Japanese people including me don't believe his word, because Japan national team is not so strong...

Of course, I'm going to cheer for the team in front of TV. I may go to bar to watch the game with other supporters...

But I think, we can enjoy 3 games. Also we can enjoy other countries' national team.

Thank you.

Japan

I don't have a talent to make such a video, and of course I didn't made this video. Kenichi Tanaka a Japanese graphic designer made this video as his final thesis project. I've never met him before, but I could know this video because someone was tweeting about this video on Twitter, then I decided to write about this video on my blog.

But before that here is the video description:
This is my final thesis project. I created info-graphic, motion piece. My objective is to make Japanese people to think about that everything happening here in Japan, isn't that normal. So I created this video from foreigner's point of view, rather than Japanese people's point of view. By the way, please don't cal me racist, because I am one of short, small eyes Japanese ;P

This video is made for Japanese to let them know how strange Japanese are, but it also useful for non-Japanese people to know more about Japan and Japanese people.

We Japanese must think about these problems seriously, I think. For instance, we don't care about the train accident that happens morning or evening on weekdays, because we know that the accident happens again and again like everyday. But these accidents are mostly because of suicides. We must think about this seriously, it's crazy.

Also, the scraps of food. We must remind the word "mottainai".

Thank you.
Good day & Peace and Smile!

new shoes in new gymnasium

I hardly use gymnasium because I love to play the sports which play in outside. Also, I didn't have time to use gymnasium regularly...

But these days, I decided to join an extra PE class. I should not say it is as a class, because there is no PE classes on my course. On this class, we students can chose which sports we do at the class. Mostly we play five-a-side football.

Last year, the college renewed gymnasium and the new rule appeared. According to that rule, we must wear shoes with green bootlace. I've never seen green bootlace, and I couldn't find out shoes with green bootlace...

But we have an extension, so I'm using new shoes with white bootlace now. According to the rule sheet, green bootlace will be available soon at the college shop. I'm going to go to buy it after the green bootlace would be appeared at the shop.

Thank you.

Wonderful

My golden week have finished and I went to the college from today. I didn't do anything special during my golden week, but I worked part time and I took some photos when I walked around. I uploaded some on flickr so please check it, if you like.

The weather during the golden week was wonderful. Sunny and warm days after the crazy Texas weather. Spring came to us. Or I should say Summer came to us. I wanted to go somewhere but I couldn't do that. I should to go to somewhere else during the golden week except the part time job... lol

The weather in Tokyo during the golden week was sunny. There were no rainy or cloudy days for 7 days... I heard this is the first golden week with no rainy day in recorded history.

Anyway, I thought about my summer plan to visit Hong Kong this summer. But it's just a plan, I may change my plan because I wanna do many many things in this year.

I hope the plan will be realized. At that time, I will write about that on this blog.

Thank you.
