Funny drink

I found funny drink at the convenience store near my house. "Marimokkori drink". "Marimokkori" is famous Japanese character originated in Hokkaido. There are many types of goods of "Marimokkori". Key rings, dolls, straps...

And today, I found drink of "Marimokkori" at the convenience store. Most of drinks that are selling at convenience stores' price are about 140 yen. But this "Marimokkori drink" was expensive... Its price was 504 yen...

Too expensive, I thought. But I bought it. LOL

Anyway, the flavor of "Marimokkori drink" was apple flavor. And its taste was good.

But...

Expensive!!!

I found baseball, swimmer and judo version of Marimokkori but I think there are more assortments. But I won't buy it never.

White coke

Pepsi is really nice company, I think. Because they have much humor. In fact, they released ice cucumber last year. And now they turned to white. "Pepsi white"

Pepsi's new flavor is yogurt. White Pepsi is limited time offer from 21 October. I didn't know about this limited time offer but my friend told me about this. Then I went to supermarket store near my college and bought one.

First, it is not coke. And its taste is not so good, I think. In fact, I don't like it... But I like its design. LOL

If you can, you should try it.

The reading week

From this Monday, we are in reading week(読書週間"Week that encourage to read books"). This week will continue until 9, November. Number of books that Japanese people read in a month are the lowest level in the world. Many Japanese people don't read books... Especially young Japanese people don't read books.

I think, it is necessary to read books to communication. If we read books more, we can get knowledges more. And reading books is very effective for our humanity.

So, I'll read book!

Special direct mail about Nenkin

Yesterday, I got direct mail from Japanese Health Minister Youichi MASUZOE. Special direct mail about Nenkin (ねんきん特別便"Nenkin Tokubetsubin"). Social Insurance Agency send this direct mail to check data of national pension plan subscribers. Every Japanese over 20 yrs old need to subscribe national pension plan. But there were some miss records in national pension plan. Then they started sending direct mail to check miss records since December, 2007.

I started subscribe national pension plan since September, 2008. I posted about that last month.

I believe that there are no miss record on my record... Because I subscribed that in last month...

But I need to check and send it back. Of course, there were no miss records then I send "No problem" mail to Social Insurance Agency. I don't like mail like this. Because it is tough for me to read everyone who got this direct mail agree with this, I believe.

Headache

Today, I got a e-mail from my college. That e-mail says "We will hold special seminar today's evening. This seminar is seminar about the researches of the Nobel prize winners." In 2008, there are 3 Japanese who won the Nobel prize. Makoto KOBAYASHI and Toshihide MASUKAWA for the physiology. Osamu SHIMOMURA for the chemistry. I'm studying in technical college. Sometimes, the seminar like this hold in our college.

I wanted to take this seminar but I didn't... Because, I had a headache...

I think, I need to take sleep...

Festival in College

In this season, many schools, colleges and universities in Japan hold their school festival. In my college, we will have school festival in next week. During most of school festival, comedians come and show their performance or musicians play their tunes. I think, it will be really fun! But in my college comedians won't come and show their performances, of course musicians won't play their tunes in our college... In fact, our college's school festival is not so big one then we need do something if we want to enjoy the festival. This year, we are planning to open Japanese-style pancake shop during the festival.

If we make Japanese-style pancake and sell it, it will be very fun!

Make and sell Japanese-style pancake is not only one thing that we can enjoy. There's fireworks at the last of the festival. We can watch fireworks very close!

Kanken

Kanken [noun]

Short for Nihon Kanji Nouryoku Kentei. This is the test of Japanese Kanji. There are 12 grades and 1st and pre-1st grades are really difficult even for Japanese elder people. Most of people says it is enough as member of society if people have 2nd grade.

I took pre-2nd grade long long time ago... (Maybe 5 years ago)

I tried 3rd times or more, to pass the test of pre-2nd grade. Because I'm not good at writing Japanese Kanji... And I've never tried it since then.

These days, I always bring a book and I'm reading more than 5 books in every month. When I'm reading books, sometimes I find Kanji that I can't read... When I found these one, I always use dictionary... But I feel if I can read more Kanji...

Then I decided that I will study for Kanken too! Now, I'm studying English, Chinese and my major of course. And from this week, I started studying Kanji too. I don't know when I will take Kanken 2nd grade but I try for it.

Anyway, I heard that some foreigners is taking Kanken to study Japanese. There are 12 grades like I wrote before, lower grades of Kanken are test for very very young Japanese like elementary school students. Then it is not so hard even for foreigners. I think, it is really nice.

I hope these people will increase.

Nana mail

This is one of Japanese mail service. When mobile phone in Japan was not had a lot of function and fast internet connection, it was difficult to send photos to friend by e-mails. Nana mail was really great service for old days Japanese mobile phone users especially for young people.

We don't need to register for nana mail. All the things that we must do is change the e-mail address. In Japan there were three types of domains for mobile phones. "docomo.ne.jp", "ezweb.ne.jp" and J-phone. J-phone had 9 types of domains but now there is only one "softbank.ne.jp". (In fact, this is not correct. Please search "SoftBank" on wikipedia or other sites. You can know the facts.)

If you want send big size file like photo to your friend (12345@docomo.ne.jp), you can use the service of nana mail with change your friend's address to 12345@docomo.ne7.jp. Now you can send big size files. Your friend will receive mail from you but there are some text messages and URL. Your friend access to URL, she or he can see big size file via web browser. Your friend can download that files.

It was useful because we couldn't send or receive big size file like photo from old days' mobile phones. But now. Most of Japanese are using 3G network then we don't have to use this service.

Many friends of mine used to send me photos to me using this service. But these days, no one using this service... In fact, I can't answer the questions like "Is this service still working?"... Maybe we can use it... But I won't guarantee.

Starbucks became can coffees

Today, I found two can coffees in convenience store. This can coffee was released by Starbucks. Both can coffees' net is only 140 ml. But its price is 172 yen. I think, it is expensive. But I bought both of them because I wanna try it.

In my opinion, it is not so good for me... It is too expensive for me. I'll go to Starbucks to drink coffee if I'll buy this can coffee in convenience stores.

In fact, I don't like kind of can coffees. How about you? Do you like can coffee?

Cables

Yesterday, I was editing English presentation on my MacBook. In such situation, I need to connect to internet to use online dictionary. Also, I was using Time Machine then I needed use external hard drive. I wanted to save my file on my flash memory. I wanted to sync and recharge my iPhone. And I needed power supply for my MacBook.

Then I connected all of these things, my MacBook became like photo on top. There are two USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet port, mini-DVI port, MagSafe power port, FireWire 400 port, Audio line in and Audio line out on my left side of MacBook. I used two USB 2.0 ports for my iPhone and my flash memory. FireWire 400 port for my external hard drive. Ethernet port to connect to the Internet. MagSafe power port to recharge my MacBook. I used 5 of 8 ports yesterday.

I couldn't use more connectors... But I don't have to use extra USB or FireWire ports anymore. Because there are enough ports for me to use my MacBook. But I'm scare when I use my MacBook on my lap.

Tokyo International Film Festival

From tomorrow, Tokyo International Film Festival will start in Tokyo. I heard that there is no red carpet but there is green carpet. This shows care for the environment. In fact, this green carpet was made from used plastic bottles. This 1418 meters of green carpet was made by about 18,000 of 500ml plastic bottles.

We can watch many films in Roppongi & Shibuya. I need over an hour to get these area, but I wanna go there to watch films!

During festival about 300 of films are on screen. Festival will hold period 18 to 26. But we can't go there wearing jeans... I don't know exactly about this then please check it on there web page. "http://www.tiff-jp.net"

Night theater

I like watching movies. But in Japan the price of movie is expensive, I think. (We need pay 1,800 yen to watch movie.) Then I don't want to go to theater to watch movies. Mostly I rent DVDs to watch movies.

Most of people are working on day time. At day time, people are talking and walking around my house. Some times I feel it noisy. But at night, most of people are sleeping or staying at home. Then it is not noisy.

I think, it is good for me to watch movie at home. Not noisy and room is dark these are all good to watch movie. LOL

But there are some problems. If I watch movie at night, I can't take much time to sleep...

Anyway, I like watching movies at night.

Action blog

Today is the blog action day. Today's theme is "Poverty". Then let's get it started.

Most of people will write about poverty of the developing world I believe. Then, I won't write about such story. Because I believe that many people think, this is big problem and we need to act to improve it.

I'll write about poverty in Japan. But it is not about working poor or homeless person. It is about Japan's food self-sufficiency ratio.

I think, we Japanese are in poverty too. Japan's food self-sufficiency ratio is 40%. Most of cheap foods that selling in supermarket are from China. And these years, there are some problem. Especially, frozen foods.

I posted the article about that in this year ( I forgot when I posted it but I posted it in this year). But these days, unveiled that there are more poison foods came from China. For example, milk, french bean, bean jam and etc... These poison foods are spreading all over the world like pet foods and milks.

I think, Chinese government have to act to improve these problems. If they ignore these problems, they will lose their trusts.

But Japanese government also have to act to improve these problems. If Japan's food self-sufficiency ratio is not low, we don't have to import such cheap, poison food from China. If Japan's food self-sufficiency ratio improved, quality of foods from China might improve. I believe so.

Also, this action will be good for the environment. If we won't import foods from overseas, we can reduce energy to transport. That might stop global warming.

First, I'll try to buy foods that from Japan, not from overseas.

iPhone's new power adapter came to my house

Today, I received an iPhone's new power adapter. On 20th September, I got text message from SoftBank. That says "iPhone's ultra compact USB power adapter have a problem and we need to exchange that to new one". I have another USB power adapter that is not small, then I didn't use that power adapter. But last week I ordered to exchange that adapter to new one.

Left one on the photo is new USB power adapter and right one is old one. But I needed to sent old one back to Apple. Then there are no old one in my house now.

Sunny day

Today is 10th, October. 10th October used to be "体育の日(National sports day)". But in 2000, it changed to second monday in October. In 1964, Tokyo Olympics games' opening ceremony was held on 10th, October. Since then, most of the day of 10th, October were sunny day. In fact, there were only 5 rainy days on 10th, October during 1966 to 1999 in Tokyo. But from 2000, it changed. There were 6 rainy days on 10th, October during 2000 to 2007 in Tokyo. And today was sunny day but it changed to rain at the night.

Anyway, F1 Japan GP is now holding in Fuji Speed Way. If I can, I wanna go there and watch the race but I can't. Then I'll watch it on TV.

Printer

Today, I searched some printer on the internet. I was surprised by these prices. I think, the price of printer might be expensive. But that is not true. I found complex printer that would work as scanner, fax and of course printer. The price of that printer is 7,980 yen! I couldn't believe that price when I saw that price first time.

I like watching TV shopping programs. In these programs, printers are selling as one of the accessories of digital camera. And its price is not so expensive. I was wondering why they can sell it such a cheap price. But I could know why they could. Price of printers are not so expensive. Of course, there are some expensive printers. New one are mostly expensive. But I don't need the newest one. Most of printers that are selling in retail stores have enough functions, I think.

I don't need it in Gmail

I think, google gave us a lot of cool stuff like Gmail, google earth, search engine and etc... Of course, I like using Google such like iGoogle, Blogger and Gmail. These are produced by Google and we don't have to pay for it. Today, I found new feature that help us to stop send mis-mail in late at night.

If we set this, we have to answer some calculations when we send mail. It is because we can't answer such a calculations when we drunk. Then, we can't send mis-mail when we drunk.

But I have a problem. I'm using iPhone and I'm using .Mac mail, Gmail and SoftBank mail. Mostly, I'm using .Mac mail and SoftBank mail then my mis-mail won't stop sending. :(

So, please release such apps for iPhone. I might not use it... LOL

Chinese

I'm taking Chinese class this year. It is optional subject, we can choose subject English class or Chinese class. I'm studying English but my college's English level is really low. I felt that English class in our college is not useful for me. Then I decided to chose Chinese class.

That class started in April. It have been 6 months since I started studying Chinese. But I feel I won't be able to speak Chinese. It is difficult for me...

Anyway, I had a homework to do during summer holidays. I needed to read the book about Chinese. It is not textbook. I think, it won't help me with studying Chinese. But this is my homework to do.

I had 90 days of summer holidays and I read a lot of books. But all books that I read are not about Chinese. I searched the book about Chinese in library. It is tough to find out good one. Then I need to read that book and write a book report until tomorrow. Maybe, it will be tough work to me.

Photo print

Usually, I don't print out photos that I took. Because I feel my printer's quality is not high then photos that I printed out is not looks good. But if I order print to the photo shops, the cost will be expensive. And I don't know the quality of photo shop. I mean, I've never ordered digital print so I don't know the quality of digital print.

Of course, when I was using film cameras I used to use photo shop to print out my photos. I know that the quality of photos that they printed out is high.

Anyway, I need to print out my photos. Then I ordered digital print first time. And I went to photo shop to receive and pay my photos today. I feel, the quality of photos are good. But the price is...

I ordered to print out 8 photos. That size is A4. And its price was 3200 yen. I feel it is not cheap...

Who will rent it?

I found the news that one of Japanese rent-a-car company started the new service that will rent Lexus IS-F. I've never use rent-a-car before. And I've never heard rent-a-car company rent such a expensive car. Maybe this is the first case that the rent-a-car company rent a expensive car in Japan.

But there are some terms to rent a Lexus IS-F. Drivers who are not drive cars over 20 years can't rent it. And they must be gold license driver. I meant, most of gold license drivers are safety driver. They have to answer the questionnaires.

Drivers can rent a Lexus IS-F from 9:00 to 19:00 and its price is 35,000 yen. The company handle Lexus IS-F only in there office in Roppongi hills.

I'm still 20 years old and I took my drivers license last year. Then I couldn't pass the term. I can't rent a Lexus IS-F. But I've never thought that I will rent it. Then this is not big problem for me. I won't rent Lexus IS-F.

Riding bicycle

This 2 months, I didn't ride bicycle because I didn't go to college on sunny day during summer holidays. I think, I went to college about 10 days during my summer holidays. But most of days were cloudy or rainy day... I don't wanna ride bicycle on rainy day. Then I went there by train that days.

Summer holidays ended on 30th September. But I didn't feel good yesterday then I went to college by train. So, today is the first ride in a while. Of course, I didn't forget how to ride my bicycle. Then I could reach my college before the time.

I need about 20 minutes to reach my college by bicycle but I think this is the best way to go to college. I have a driver's license and I can reach my college in 10 minutes if I use my car. But I don't use my car. I'll tell you some reasons.

1st, I need some money for gasoline. My college is 5km away from my house then the cost of gasoline is not so expensive. But if I go to college by my car every day, the cost will be expensive one. And bicycle don't need gasoline.

2nd, car will generate CO2 and NOx when we drive. Of course, I will generate CO2 during riding bicycle but this is not so big problem.

And finally, this is the biggest reason that why I am not go to college by car. The rule of my college. I can't go to college by car! LOL

Anyway, riding bicycle is really good for our health and for the environment. Then I'll keep riding bicycle for my health.

1st, October

Today is the day of Tokyoites. Then many elementary schools, junior-high schools and high schools in Tokyo were holiday. And there are many things that changed today. Matsushita changed their company name to Panasonic. "National" brand disappeared in Japan...

I need to go to college from today. I had 2 classes today. I think, the classes were really hard for me. It is hard to write on my notebook... I didn't have a chance that write down on my notebook this 2 months. Then this was really hard for me... LOL
