Becoming Winter

These days, it is really cold... It's getting cold day by day. Winter is coming to us.

Many stores started to decorate into Christmas version... But it is still November! I think, it is too early. But I like it.

Japan is not largely Christian nation but we love Christmas. I don't know why but they like it!

Thank you.
Good day & Peace and Smile!

My friend, who is American-Japanese, told me Christmas is very popular in Japan and that Christmas in Japan is very different than Christmas in America. Although Japan is not primarily Christian, she says many Japanese like Christmas because they see it as "romantic" and they get to eat a Christmas cakes. Yummy! But American's don't have Christmas cakes :(

It's a bit different here in America. Many people view Christmas as a Christian holiday. Some just call it the "holidays," because American being so big and diverse, there is more than one holiday in December (Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Winter Solstice) and they don't want to offend other religions. Some others just see it as a time to be kind and generous to each other.

In any case, I think many companies take advantage of Christmas to make lots of money. The store I work part-time in already had Christmas decorations at the end of October, lol.

Thank you Chris.
I didn't know that American's don't have Christmas cakes. I believed that these customs came from the United States or other countries.
