They must be eaten until the 1st January. Also, we have a lot of customs. For example, the bells on new year's eve. Ring bells 108 times. It is originated from Buddhism 108 times are from earthly desires. Ring 107 times in this year and ring last one time in next year. If we hear or ring the bells on new year's eve, we will be released from 108 earthly desires. I don't know exactly about this. But this is also one of customs in Japan.

This is the 200th post. I began to post my web log at 11th May, 2006. First two years, I posted once a week or less. But I posted every weekday since August, 2008. I took about 2 years to post 100 posts but now it took only a few months... I started this web log to improve my English. There are many ways to improve my English but I chose this one first. Of course, I’m doing other things to improve my English. I don’t know how my English improved in this 2.5 years. How do you think? I think, it is not enough...
BTW, now we are in the end of 2008. The day after tomorrow is 2009! Many shops and companies are changing their decorations into new year edition. But I think, there were some mistakes. For example, the pachinko parlor near my house shows us like “Happy new year! I hope you will come to our parlor like last year.”. I think, it is too early. I found that display on Saturday...

Cleaning up
There are only 3 days until 2009. (including today) In Japan many people clean up their house in this season. We call it “大掃除(osoji)”. I did it today. Now, my room is clean. lol
Anyway, I posted about concert last Friday. Until I went there, I thought that the concert is like concert. I mean, group sing one song and some one introduce the song after the group song. Song and other song is separated. But it was different. The concert was like a musical. They were singing and dancing. I think, it was good.
BTW, this is the 199th post. Tomorrow, I will post 200th post. Thank you for your reading!

On the other hand, many people says economic crisis are covering all over the world. Dubai is not isolated example. Many buildings are stopping construction. I don't know when these building will be completed. But I wanna go there some time. Don't you think so?

But I felt like that today. Today’s morning papers’ total number of pages was 28. I’ve never thought there are big difference in total number of pages. I think, this is depends on the number of news. I might check total number of pages on tomorrow’s morning paper.

Wind
But I felt wind was so strong during the final game (Manchester United vs Liga Deportiva Universitaria Quito). Some plastic bags rolled cross the ground... Yesterday’s game held in International Stadium Yokohama (Nissan stadium).
When I was watching the game I didn’t feel that wind is strong around my house. The wind was getting strong after a few hours. I felt wind was so strong when I went to bed.
In the morning, the weather changed dynamically... It was hot. In fact, today’s highest temperature was over 20 degrees C. We are in end of December then this temperature was unnaturally high. But weather forecast said tomorrow’s highest temperature will be 10 degrees C. I mean usual temperature in end of December... It will be cold tomorrow...

Feel the energy from the great art
Do you have any chance to watch art in your daily life? In Tokyo, there are many places that we can watch art. Look at the photo on the top. This is the photo that I took in Shibuya station. I took this photo in the morning then many people were crossing in front of the great picture.
This picture is one of the greatest pictures of Taro Okamoto. He drew it in 1968 to 1969. "The Myth of Tomorrow" is the title of this picture.
Not only in Shibuya station. We can watch statues in Tachikawa station. And there are many places that we can watch arts in our daily life. On the other hand, there are many museums in Tokyo. These days, Art Triangle Roppongi is the most famous museum area in Tokyo, I think. There are 3 museums Mori Art Museum, Suntory Museum of Art and The National Art Center, Tokyo. I've never been there but I wanna go there. Do you like art?

Window on MacBook
These days, I had a big problem on my MacBook. I'm using Windows XP on MacBook with boot camp. Mostly I'm using Mac on my MacBook. But sometimes I need to use Windows XP then I installed Windows XP with boot camp.
On Windows we need to update the software sometimes. At that time Microsoft was offering update to SP3 then I started update. After I updated Windows XP to SP3, I couldn't use DVD drive on Windows XP. Then I removed SP3 and down grade to SP2 that why my friend told me.
But I couldn't use DVD drive on Windows XP... I can use DVD drive on Mac. Then there are no problem on DVD drive. I didn't know how to fix it then I refused to fix it by myself. I reserved genius bar and I went to Apple Store Shibuya today. Staff tried to fix it but it took about an hour... But he did it! Now I can use DVD drive on Windows XP too. Thank you.

Karamazov
Do you know "the Brothers Karamazov"? It is famous Russian novel. It written by Fyodor Mikhaylovich Dostoyevsky. This is really long story but I like this novel. I finished reading this novel yesterday. I felt this is one of the most interesting novel that I've read.
I started reading this novel in mid of September. I took about 3 months to read all... This is difficult novel but it is really nice. If you have never read, you must read it! If you don't, you are going to be sorry.

Japanese dislikes google?
August 2008, Google released their service "street view" in Japan too. But after the release, many people visited the site and use it. Also many people complained like "they are ignoring our portrait right". I think so too. But I think "street view" is amazing software. Now we can use it on iPhone and other mobile phones.
But google is not top share search engine in Japan. Yahoo! Japan is the top share search engine in Japan. Yahoo! Japan is the most popular portal site in Japan.
Over 60% of web mail users are using Yahoo! mail not Gmail. I'm using Gmail but its share was only 6%. No.2 is hotmail... Does Japanese dislike using google?

Starbucks discoveries again
I think the can version of its series was not good. But this series are very nice. I love this. LOL
Of course, Starbucks(real store) is better than these series. And I can take comfortable time at the store, if I go to the real store of Starbucks. I like spending time at the Starbucks store. Because the store is fulfilled with really nice coffee smells and there are good music. I like reading book and drink some coffee at the store. How about you? Do you like to drink coffee at Starbucks or other coffee stores?

The Kanji of the year
Nihon Kanji Noryoku Kentei Kyokai released the Kanji of the year today. This year's kanji was 変(hen). It means "change" or "strange". But I think "change" is better.
Many things changed in this year. For example, financial crisis, the president of the United States will change, prime minister of Japan changed, global warming, change in consciousness on foods and etc... Also, Obama used "change" many times on his speech...
But also we need to change maybe...

Hot winter?
Is this one of the effects of global warming? Or not?
Anyway, these warm winter is really nice, I think. It is very comfortable for me to live... lol But I heard very unfortunately forecast on TV now... Tomorrow's highest temperature will not like today... Weather forecast said tomorrow's highest temperature will be 14 degrees... It is cold than today... But it is the usual temperature. I will be patient.

The Quarter Pounder

On 28th November, we can eat quarter pounder in most of McDonald's stores in Shutoken (Around Tokyo). I saw commercial messages on TV many times...
There are many stores but I've never been there since that day. Today, I went there. But the store didn't have quarter pounder...
Then I ordered chicken filet-o. Then I heard my friend who is working for McDonald's as part time. He told me that the quarter pounder is not selling in all stores. Then he told me the nearest store that is selling the quarter pounder. I hope I will go there and buy it. lol

Futsal
Today, I played futsal with my friend during the lunch time. I didn't do the sports for a long time. Then it was really hard to run seriously. I got tired when I play futsal first ten minutes...
I played four games (forty minutes). When the last game end, I need to go. Then I stopped playing and go to the other place. But I heard that most of my friends were keep playing futsal...
I think, sports are nice and I like it. And it is good for our health. But I need training or daily exercise... lol
If I can, I wanna play squash tennis. But there are no place where I can play squash tennis near my house. Do you like playing sports?

Does the Mac need antivirus software?
Last week, some media released the news about Apple's web site. That was about the Apple released the antivirus software information and they erased after some media announced.
I'm using MacBook and of course I'm using Mac. I can use windows if I use bootcamp and I've already installed windows on my MacBook. But it is very rare to me to use windows on my MacBook.
Anyway, I've installed Norton on Mac & Windows. So, I'm ok if the apple would release such information. But I don't think these software are necessary for my MacBook.

Hard day...

Today, I had a mid-term examination of Chinese language. Then yesterday, I studied for that examination until 3.30 a.m...
I woke up at 7.00 the examination would start at 9.00. I think, it’s ok. And this is too early to go to college. But next time the clock showed me 8.30... Yes, I slept after I woke up...
I felt pressed... I went to college as soon as possible. I arrived to college at 8.50. I was on time! I could take the examination.
But Chinese language is difficult for me like I wrote before. I could fill out all sections on my answer sheet. I think, I made a lot of mistakes... But it’s done so it’s ok! lol
Anyway, I found interesting web site. You can check your driving level. I checked by myself. The result was A. They said my driving level is very safe! My score is on top. Also check your driving level from here!

Orange sauce
Today, I found funny drink at convenience store again. That is orange juice. But juice was bottled in soy sauce’s bottle. And color of orange juice was black!!
But it was orange juice. Most of soy sauce were bottled in same sort of bottles. Of course, sauce’s color is black...
I wrote “Orange sauce” but it says “なんちゃってオレンジ(Nanchatte orange)” and it has warning “This is not soy sauce!” on the bottom. Also, “you must not drink real soy sauce like this juice”.
I don’t go to convenience stores so many times. But some times I do. Then I will find some funny things like Marimokkori drink and etc...

Ultra realistic paper craft
Today I will tell you about great paper crafts. My friend told me this web site. We can download motorbikes free on YAMAHA’s web page. We can’t ride these motorbikes, but we can make these! Because these are made from paper.
There are several paper craft motorbikes on YAMAHA’s web page. There are also some paper crafts that are not motorbike like birds, portable shrines and etc... I downloaded one of them. Maybe it will take much time to make it. I will make it as soon as possible but I might not be able to make it until the 2009 will come. But I will try it.
P.S. I analyzed November’s visitor’s report. During 1, November to 30, November, 115 people accessed to my weblog and viewed 151 pages. Visitors came from 15 countries/territories and over 50% of visitors came via google search. I will report you December’s visitor’s report on January. Giant pudding
But first, I didn’t think I would buy this one. Because it was so big that I can’t eat all. I like pudding but I don’t love it. In fact, I don’t buy usual size of pudding even once in a month. I think, it’s once in a half of year. Many people might agree with my opinion..
Anyway, I needed about 2 hours to eat all of this. Of course, I needed to do something then I didn’t use all 2 hours.
