Diplomacy with Panda.

(Image from Wikipedia "http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ジャイアントパンダ")

Chinese president Hu Jintao came to Japan on Tuesday. And he said that they're ready to rent couple of giant panda for Ueno zoo in Tokyo. In 30th April, giant panda Ling Ling in Ueno zoo died then there are no giant panda in Ueno zoo. Ueno zoo is the oldest zoo in Japan and it is the most famous zoo in Japan. In 1972, first giant panda came to Ueno zoo and many people came to there to see the giant panda.

Now, there are 8 giant panda in Japan. But they are all belonging to China. So, there are no giant panda that is belonging to Japan. Ling Ling was the last giant panda that was belonging to Japan.

I think, it is good because there are no zoo around my house that are keeping giant panda in zoo. So, if Chinese government, Japanese government and Tokyo government will agree about this problem, I can go to Ueno zoo to see giant panda.

But I heard that the cost of renting giant panda is really expensive. Kobe Oji zoo in Kobe is paying to China 100,000,000 yen per year for couple giant panda. 100 million yen per year!! (About 957 thousands U.S. dollars. About 626 thousands euro.) Can you believe it? If they decided to rent couple of giant panda from China, Tokyo government will pay 100 million yen every year! And these costs will be paid from our tax. I think, it is not good... LOL
