New words, buzzwords
Yesterday, Jiyukokuminsha announced the winners of the 2008 buzzwords of the year contest. This is annual contest and awards buzzwords of the year. The winners of the 2008 buzzwords were "グー(goo)" by Harumi EDO, "アラフォー(Around forty)" by Yuki AMAMI, "上野の413球(Ueno's 413 of pitching)" by Yukiko UENO, "あなたとは違うんです(I'm different from you)" by Yasuo FUKUDA, "後期高齢者(Old old)" by Hideya YAMAZAKI, "居酒屋タクシー(Drink spot taxi)" by Akira NAGATSUMA, "名ばかり管理職(Managers who can't get enough treatments by company)" by Hiroshi TAKANO, "蟹工船(Kanikosen)" by Hitomi HASEGAWA, "霞ヶ関埋蔵金(Buried treasure in Kasumigaseki)" by Hidenao NAKAGAWA and "ゲリラ豪雨(Guerrilla storm)" by Weathernews. These are top 10 buzzwords of the year.
I think, some of them are not buzzwords. I've used some of them but I've never use most of these words. It is different from the real meaning of the buzzwords of the year...
And be careful, there are a lot of miss translated words.
Thank you.
Good day & Peace and Smile!
