Today is new year's eve and this is the 201st post on my web log. In new year's eve, we eat 年越し蕎麦(toshikoshi noodle). This is one of customs in Japan. Toshikoshi noodle has some meanings. Noodles are long, then if we eat noodle until new year come, we can live long. Another one is that. Noodles are easy to cut, then if we eat noodle until new year come, last year's bad things would not keep in next year.

They must be eaten until the 1st January. Also, we have a lot of customs. For example, the bells on new year's eve. Ring bells 108 times. It is originated from Buddhism 108 times are from earthly desires. Ring 107 times in this year and ring last one time in next year. If we hear or ring the bells on new year's eve, we will be released from 108 earthly desires. I don't know exactly about this. But this is also one of customs in Japan.

Thank you.
Good day & Peace and Smile!
