A year ago

Yesterday, I joined junior fellow's workshop. I didn't have much time to join that, so I joined only an hour. I just watched 2 laboratories' presentation and one of them is the laboratory that I'm belong to.

I remembered that I was at there a year ago.

graduate

I graduated the college last March, and now I'm studying in different course (advanced course) of the same college. Of course, many people are working for the company now.

Yesterday, one of the classmate who is working for the company came to the college. He came to college to promote his company to junior students. I couldn't join his presentation but I met him with other classmates.

After his presentation, we went to drinking session. It was really fun. I didn't have chance to talk with him until yesterday, so we had a lot of things that we wanted to talk. We talked a lot at that time.

Figure skating

Today was the day of ladies' figure skating but I was in college at that time. So, I couldn't watch it live.

I just watched Yahoo! JAPAN's sports news site. Of course, there were only characteristic information.

I wanted to enjoy more but I couldn't. I think, I should watch it on TV...

On Friday, they will play on free program. So, it's ok.

I hope Mao ASADA will win the gold medal on Friday!

Sakura color

Spring is almost there. Today was really warm day and it's nice to ride bicycle. lol

Also it's tough season for hay fever people. I'm not hay fever, so I don't have to be careful for this season...

Yesterday, I tried Starbucks' new beverage "Sakura steamer(さくらスチーマー)" at the nearest Starbucks coffee. The photo on top is the Sakura steamer. It's looks nice and it's yummy, I felt.

We have to wait a little bit to see cherry blossom, but we can drink it at Starbucks... lol

Now Sakura cream frappetino is also available there. I've not tried this one yet...

5 series of "2"

Today is 22 February, 2010. In Japanese, Today is "平成２２年２月２２日(22 February, Heisei 22)". Heisei is the name of Japanese era "元号(Gengo)". This year is Heisei 22.

There are 5 2s on calendar today. And at 22.22, there will be 9 2s. We need to wait about 10 hours until 22.22. Maybe some people will count down for that time... lol

If you post a letter today in Japan, the date stamp will be "22.2.22".

It's very rare. Also there are some memorial stamps, tickets and etc for today.

It's not Friday

It was snowing in Tokyo this morning. Maybe many people got confused on traffic delays. I didn't have to ride train this morning, so I didn't have to wait for train at the station. But now it's shining. There are no snow.

It's tough to walk on snowy road so, it's good to disappear snow quickly... lol

Anyway, I'll write a little bit about today's title. I chose "It's not Friday" because I misguided so.

Finished

I was still in the examination week until today. But till today, I've taken all the examinations that I needed to take in this week. And that means my spring holidays will begin from tomorrow! but...

I'm still in the job hunt so, I need to take some entrance exams, write a lot of entry sheets, join many companies' company briefing... Maybe it will take a much time...

cloudy days

From last wednesday, weather was not good. Cloudy, rainy, snowy... And today it's raining in the morning. Cloudy in the noon and in the evening it's snowing.

I think, it was rare to meet snow in Tokyo in this season but I've already seen snow 3 times in this season this year. So, I can't ride my bicycle these days...

Anyway, I heard that Keiichiro Nagashima won silver medal at men's speed skating 500m. Also Joji Kato won bronze medal at the same game. They are the first Japanese medalist on Vancouver Winter Olympic games! I want to check their games on video but I couldn't do that yet....

Sports month

On Saturday, 21st Winter Olympic Vancouver Olympic game had started. Or I should say on Friday but it's local time and ceremony was on Saturday in JST(Japan Standard Time).

On Sunday, the match game of the East Asian Football Championship held in Tokyo. That was Japan national team vs Korea Republic national team. Japan couldn't win this game. They won against Hong-Kong but drew against China and lost yesterday against S.Korea. Finally, China national team took East Asian Football Champion.

They were 3rd class at this championship, even Takeshi Okada(Japan's head coach) declared that they will be the best 4 in World Cup 2010. Most of Japanese don't believe this declaration because they couldn't earn enough score, these days.

Anyway, I watched free-style skiing yesterday Japanese athlete couldn't take any medal at this competition... But I felt they are great!!!

shoulder bag

I love to use shoulder bag and I always put it on left shoulder. I forgot how long I've been putting shoulder bags on my left shoulder, but it's really long, I think. I've been putting shoulder bag only on my left shoulder. Not on my right shoulder.

Today I changed my policy... lol
It was not my policy but today I put my shoulder bag on my right shoulder. It was snowing in the morning so, I need to ride train to go to the college. Until I get to the station, I didn't know the delay on train but I felt something weird on my shoulder bag.

It's weird because I've never put my shoulder bag on my right shoulder. I think, it's good to change the position of my shoulder bag. I need to do that to fix my body's strain.

Anyway I took about an hour to get to the college by train because of the delay (I took only 30 minutes to get there on usual day).

New York New York

On Tuesday, I went to McDonald's to take lunch there. I didn't know that they started to sell New York burger at their restaurants, but I found out that when I arrived at the restaurant.

I've known that they were going to launch 4 new burgers in limited time. Texas burger, New York burger, California burger and Hawaiian burger. It's time for New York burger but I don't know when this campaign would be finished...

I've eaten Texas burger and New York burger. I prefer New York burger than Texas burger. I'm going to eat both California burger and Hawaiian burger when these would be available. If you have a chance to eat them, please try it!

pollen season

Yesterday, I couldn't post an article... I'm going to post the article tomorrow that I wanted to post yesterday so, please wait until then. (Tomorrow is national holiday so I didn't plan to post an article...)

Today Japan Meteorological Agency announced that cedar pollen dispersal started from Monday. It's 6 days faster than average year, but 3 days slower than last year. According to Japan Meteorology Agency, the pollen load of this year is expected 60% decrease from last year's pollen load.

I'm not Hay Fever, so I'm not so worrying about these kind of news but there are many Hay Fever patients in Japan. These are worth information for them, I think. I hope I will not become a patient of Hay Fever...

A year later

Yesterday I went to the nearest event hall to watch the presentation that my laboratory's senior student made. At that event, there were many presenters but all of these presenters are student of same college and all of them are senior students. That was annual workshop that all of the college students must join to graduate from the college.

Of course, I need to make a presentation at same place in a year later. I felt that the questioners made tough questions for presenters at that workshop. Maybe it's also tough for me... lol

Anyway, the senior student at my laboratory won the performance awards of his section. In my laboratory, previous senior 3 students won this awards. 3 year series! If me or my friend won this awards again next year, this will be 4 year series! We are in under the pressure now...

But until then, I need to do a lot of things...

Dear Asashoryu(朝青龍)

Do you know Asashoryu(朝青龍)? He was Mongolian and Sumo wrestler of Japan. He is the 86th yokozuna in professional sumo in Japan. Yokozuna is the highest rank in sumo. He won 25 times but he retired yesterday because of his scandal he kicked up on 16th January.

He had had a lot of scandals since he became yokozuna. His latest scandal is that he beaten citizen when he drunk. Of course, I don't know what happened on 16th January but according to some newspapers, he drunk too much and he beaten citizen.

But I don't care about these scandal. He worked very nice at professional sumo of Japan. I believe many people loves him... Thank you Asashoryu. I hope you will be flourished again!

100km

I bought new bicycle in November, but at that time I didn't installed cycle computer on it. I installed cycle computer in January, and today I found that I rode 100km since then.

104.23km
I took about a month to ride my bicycle for 104.23km. In January, I didn't have much time to ride bicycle. I needed to go company's briefing, seminars, briefing, skill test, briefing, briefing, briefing.... lol

If I can, I want to go with my bicycle.

Great applications for Doraemon lovers?

Today is the traditional end of winter but it's snowing a little bit... I posted about Setsubun (節分) last year, so I'm write about other thing on today's article.

Yesterday, I surprised on the ranking of App Store because there were 16 new applications appeared on that ranking and its icon were so different from usual one. These are the part of Doraemon(ドラえもん).

I believe most of people know about Doraemon(ドラえもん). It's one of the most famous Japanese comics and animations. I heard their latest movie will be screened from this March, and its the 30th anniversary film.

These 16 applications are available in no charge in Japanese App Store. (I cannot check other country's App Store...) I downloaded every applications and changed its place like Doraemon. (You can check it on the photo on top.)

I checked all of them. These are "Calculator", "Battery check meter", "Watch", "Timer", "Rock-Paper-Scissors game" and other 11 stories of manga.

If you like Doraemon(ドラえもん), you must get it... lol

Walk around the snow country

Yesterday, I posted about the snow. I don't know when the snow stopped yesterday but in this morning the road was fulfilled with white. It was like a snow country... hehehe

I think, it's really rare that Tokyo covered with snow. Maybe we have snowy day once in a year but it's rare to pile up snow. It's once in 2 or 3 years maybe.

When the snow piles up, most of people confuse on transportation in Tokyo. Last night and this morning, some train lines suspended their services because of the snow. It's tough for businessperson who use train, I think.

Anyway, I walked around with my DSLR camera (Nikon's D60) and took some photos. I wanted to upload these photos in the morning but I didn't have much time to upload them at that time. So I couldn't do that.

Snow country

I'm not living in snow country, but today's weather is like a snow country. In the morning, dark clouds covered and we talked about weather forecast. According to some weather forecasting services, it would be snow in Tokyo and it occurred this evening.

At the noon, weather changed into rain and it was windy. The rain became heavier and winds stronger but it was not snow at early afternoon.

When I arrived at Shinjuku station in the evening, the rain became snow... When I took off the train, I surprised the scene because it was like a snow country. The photo on top is my coat with snow. I was putting up an umbrella but I couldn't prevent the snow. So my coat became like that... lol

I hope that the trains I'm gonna use tomorrow would not be stopped.
