Thunders
I
couldn't post on Wednesday then I posted two articles yesterday. I could post two articles but I couldn't post if blackout happened in my house. There were heavy rains and thunders. And blackout happened near my house. I was scared. Also, floods happened in some areas I heard.
This week was strange week I think. Because we are in summer but it was not so hot. And heavy rains kept for a week. Yesterday was record rainfall but today is nice weather. But weather forecast said like "it'll be rain today again".

Because of yesterday's record rainfall and thunders, I needed to change my schedule. I couldn't use train to go to college, then I decided not to go to college today. Train couldn't work all morning of today.
I couldn't use both JR Chuo-line and Keio-line so, I went to river near my house then I took some photos. You can look some of my photos that I took today on my web page and this article's top. The river is not so large in usual days but yesterday's record rainfall changed the river.
After noon, JR Chuo-line and Keio-line resumption of operating.

Green tea with honey
These
days I found the new drink. It is "green tea with honey". I can't image the taste of that when I found that. But it was very attractive for me because it is not usual thing. I think Green tea is green tea. I don't need sugar or honey of course salt when I drink green tea. I couldn't imagine sweet green tea. How about you? Is it usual, using sugar or honey when you drink green tea?
When I went to Australia, I found green tea that marked "non sugar". I was really surprised because Japanese don't mark "non sugar" on green tea. Because we don't use sugar or honey when we drink green tea.
Anyway, I bought the "green tea with honey" because it is very rare case that I can drink green tea with honey. I bought it and drunk it but its taste was not good... I think, it's wrong decision that they mixed green tea and honey. But if you want, you can get it in Japan. Coca-cola Japan is selling this strange green tea in Japan. If you drink it, please tell me your impressions.

Moving

IN
this week, we have to move all materials in our laboratory to another laboratory. It is because our college will renovate its school building. There are 7 school buildings in our college and in last year they renovated one of them. The building that renovated in last year was the oldest building in our college and the building that will renovate in this year is the second oldest building in our college.
We transferred some boxes that are some tools inside, computers, documents, and other things that we need. Some things that too heavy or too big are transferred by traders. We need to set up all of computer that we need. But there are no power sources. There are also no LAN environments. Then, we couldn't set up on Tuesday.
Professors said that "electrical works would be finished during this week". But there were no power sources and LAN environments.
On Wednesday, we got the information that all of electrical works had finished. Then we could set up our computers. But the information was wrong. There were enough power sources but we couldn't connect to the Internet.
We set up all of computers that we can't access to the Internet. I hope that we can access to the Internet tomorrow.

Posting from my iPod touch
But my iPod touch have some problems. One of my problem is I can't find Wi-Fi spot. I am not using wireless network in my home so, I have to go to station or shop to connect to the network with my iPod touch. It's not useful because I can't connect to the Internet easily.
Second, my iPod touch's software is old one. Then I can't check my mobile me mail. And I can't use google map, I can't check my location, I can't download new applications that are selling on App store. But all of this problem will be improve if I update my iPod touch's software. But I need 2400 yen to update to version 2.2. Maybe I won't update my iPod touch's software because these problems will be improve if I change to iPhone 3G. If I can, I will buy iPhone 3G.
Last problem, I couldn't upload photo on this post. I don't know why but my iPod touch couldn't upload photos. It might be my fault. But I don't know how to do that... And I don't know iPhone 3G will improve it or not. I will check it and report it after I would buy iPhone 3G.

End of Beijing Olympic
On Sunday, Beijing Olympic have finished. I couldn't watch it so much time on TV but I could enjoy it. I surprised many things in this olympic. Great record on sprints and swimming. And I also found some interesting things during I was watching TV.
First, most of Japanese reporter report play by play but in nice timings like Japanese would get point or would do some thing great, they stopped play by play report but they started cheering. Not reporting they were cheering. I thought, it was really funny thing. LOL
Second, they faked up ceremonies. I couldn't watch opening ceremony but some media said they faked up on opening ceremony like fireworks. I could watch closing ceremony, but I found some fakes when I watched it on TV. Maybe, most of singers in there were didn't song. And the reporter said this morning, drams that used in closing ceremony were looked like plastic and maybe they didn't tap it in the ceremony.
I don't think, fake ups that they did are good. And they have to think more about that.
I wanna watch London Olympic in 2012. And I hope Olympic in 2016 will be held in Tokyo.

Summer end?
This year's summer was extremely hot and humid like I wrote before. This week was also hot and humid. But today was different.
Today's morning was cold. And today's highest temperature was not so high it was 24.5 degrees (Celsius). It is not high and today was really nice day to do something. But chirring of cicadas in chorus didn't stop. It is very rare that highest temperature mark under 25 degrees in August. Is it kind of global warming?
In Hokkaido, lowest temperature was 1.5 degrees (Celsius) the weather reporter said on TV news. How strange? It is not summer. It is winter! But it is still August.
Unfortunately, weather reporter also said "this cold weather will be change soon". Hot and humid summer will be back soon...

Prison Break
First, I have to say that I've never done prison break. I've never been prisoner, so I don't have to prison break. Then this is not my story. LOL
I'll write about the TV series drama "Prison Break". It is not Japanese TV series drama but I like it. I watched season 1 and 2 on DVD. Also, I can watch season 3 on DVD, now. But I didn't have a much time to watch season 3. Now I have a little time to watch DVD. Then I went to rental shop and rent prison break season 3. I rent 4 DVDs. I think, I need 6 hours to watch all episodes. Maybe I will watch it throw the night. LOL
But prison break are really cool and nice story. And I think, "Prison break" is the best TV series drama that from the United States. I watched "Lost", "Heroes" and "Prison Break". Lost's season 1 was really good but I don't like season 2 and 3. But I like Prison break all seasons. Have you ever watched prison break?

Norwegian Wood
Do you know "Norwegian Wood"? It is not the beatles's song, I'm talking about Haruki MURAKAMI's novel. I like his books. And I like this story too.
On 1st, August, he gave one Frenchman director a sign of approval to make movie "Norwegian Wood". The movie will be unveiled in 2010. I'm really looking forward to that movie. And I'll watch that movie as soon as the movie will be unveiled.
But I think, this is very difficult to make the movie "Norwegian Wood". Not only "Norwegian Wood", most of his books are difficult to make the movie, I think. How do you think?

Baseball day
Yesterday, there were 2 big baseball games. One of them was baseball game in Beijing Olympic. Japan vs Canada. Another one was final game of Koshien.
First I'll write about olympic game. Japan won 2 games but they lost 2 games too. So, they have to win all of rest 3 games to go to get medal. Then yesterday's game vs Canada. Inaba crack a homer that was the biggest point and it became a match point. Pitchers kept this point and they won the game!
Second, I'll write about Koshien. Koshien is a major sports event in Japan. It is baseball game that high school students play. Officially, Koshien is annual summer high school baseball tournament. But most of people call it "Koshien". Because they play it in "Koshien kyuujou (Koshien stadium)". "Koshien kyuujou" is located in Hyogo prefecture and it is famous for its ivy curtain around the stadium. Most of high school students who are member of baseball club wanna go there and play there. So, they practice over and over in their school. After they won the preliminary of their region, they can go to Koshien. People in their region cheer their region's winner in front of TV like me. (Some go to Koshien)
This year's finalists were Osaka Toin and Tokoha Kikugawa. Osaka Toin is winner of North Osaka region and Tokoha Kikugawa is winner of Shizuoka region. I'm living in Tokyo and I cheered to 2 teams. Kanto Daiichi and Nihondaigaku Tsurugaoka. Kanto Daiichi is winner of East Tokyo region and Nihondaigaku Tsurugaoka is winner of West Tokyo region. But they couldn't be finalist. They lost their game before final game.
Anyway, the result of this year's Koshien final game was 14-0. Osaka Toin's batting order got big point but Tokoha Kkugawa couldn't stop their influence. I could enjoy it but if Tokoha Kikugawa could get point, the game would be more interesting game... But I could enjoy both game! And I hope today's game Japan vs China will be really good game!

Rainy day drive
I took driver's license in March 2007. And now more than a year passed. But I've never driven in rainy day. There were about 20 lectures that I had to drive in outside before I took driver's license. But fortunately (maybe I have to say "unfortunately") all of these lecture days were really nice weather. So, I've never touched to handle of wiper.
Of course, I drove after I took driver's license some times. But all of these days that I drove was really nice weather...
It is easy to drive in nice weather but I couldn't understand how difficult to drive in rainy days. Some of my friends told me that "drive in rainy days are not so different from drive in sunny or cloudy days". But I didn't think so, because I watched F1.
In F1 race, weather is one of the biggest problem I think. Drive in rainy day were looked really difficult in F1. So, I didn't think drive in rainy days are not different from drive in sunny or cloudy days.
Yesterday, I had a chance to drive in rain. And I felt it is not so different from sunny or cloudy days... Anyway, I didn't have a much time to drive. So, if I have a chance I wanna drive more.

It's like squall
These days, the weather is really nice and hot. Especially today was extremely hot. But the weather would change rapidly even in urban side. Clear sky would turn to dark sky with sudden clap of thunder. After that, heavy rain come.
Japan's weather forecast company "Weathernews" called that as "ゲリラ豪雨(Guerrilla gouu)". "豪雨(gouu)" means heavy rain. They called it like that because "ゲリラ豪雨" is heavy rain that would appear suddenly and disappear rapidly. And it is really hard to forecast with computer but if you look up to the sky it is easy to know. If you find dark cloud, it is prelude of "ゲリラ豪雨".
Then Weathernews decided that start forecast "ゲリラ豪雨" with site users. The system is simple. When site users find dark cloud send e-mail to the company. Then the company judge it and send warning to site users who are there.
I'm using Weathernews' site with my computer but not with my mobile phone. So, I didn't register the site and I don't send e-mail even when I found dark cloud. But I can't get warning e-mail when "ゲリラ豪雨" would come. But Weathernews' site is really useful. So, check it yourself! URL is "http://weathernews.com".

Books that teenagers should read
I didn't like reading books. But now it's different. I like reading books now. I don't know why, but I've already read 3 books in this month.
Then today's title "books that teenagers should read". I found that phrase in book shop. I went there to buy new books but when I found that phrase I decided to buy old ones. I bought "kokoro(こゝろ)". "Kokoro" is very famous Japanese novel that NATSUME Soseki wrote. "Kokoro" is one of the books that teenagers should read. I'm still teenager but soon I will be 20 years young. So, I wanna read more books that teenagers should read until I'll be 20 years young.
I'm reading Japanese books but also I'm reading English books. I'm reading "Pursuit of Happyness". It is hard to read English books because I'm studying English right now. But I'll try to read this book. Of course, I'll try to read Japanese books too.

Super small flash drive
These days I need to use USB flash drive many time. But in these situation I didn't have my flash drive. I have 1[GB] flash drive and its size is W x L x H 18 x 73 x 8.3 mm. Most of people
would say "It is small and very useful portable storage" but I didn't think so. For me, it is too big to treat it as my mobile phone's straps.
Yesterday, I went to electronics retail store near my house to find out flash drive that is really small. In electronics retail store, there were so many types of flash drives. There were some funny flash drives too. Some of them have sushi replica on them. But my purpose was not to buy such a funny flash drives. I wanna buy a super small flash drive that I can treat like a strap of my mobile phone.
Then, I found really small flash drive. Look at the photo on top and below.
This flash drive is really small its size is W x L x H 14.5 x 32 x 2.7 mm. And I can treat it as my mobile phone's strap like photo on right. I think, I will bring it because it is small enough and I need to bring such a flash drive in my daily life. LOL
Anyway, price of flash drives are now really cheap I think. I could buy this super small 1[GB] flash drive for 1,800 yen (About $18). But I found 4[GB] flash drive for 2,000 yen ( About $20). I couldn't buy such a big storage for 2,000 yen before. But now we can buy 4[GB] flash drive very cheap. I think, this is one of the advancement of science and technology.

SLR camera
Today, I bought new camera. I've never had a SLR digital camera then this is my first SLR digital camera. I have two SLR film cameras and two compact digital cameras. I started taking photos when I was junior high school student. My photos are not so good but I like taking photos.
I took many photos with my compact digital camera before. But from today, I can take photos with my new SLR digital camera. I bought "double zoom kit". "Double zoom kit" include two lenses one of them is standard lens, another one is zoom lens. I think, it is very useful.
But there are one big problem. I don't have much time to take photos these days. If I can, I wanna go somewhere with my new SLR digital camera and take some photos.
