Trouble

I’m using Google Analytics to monitor visitors of my blog. Sometimes I go to the Google Analytics’ page to check number of unique visitors, number of pageviews, where the visitors from, etc. I need to add tracking code to my home page. Of course, I did it and I could know these information through this service. I was posting some analytics data on my blog before. But these days I gave up to post these kind of information because I felt that these posts have such a big meanings... So, I just monitor the analytics data. These months, there’s over 100 unique visitors in each month. But in September, there’s only 67 visitors (by 30th September). 62.94% decreased from last month’s unique visitors. There’s about 2 weeks of no visitors and pageviews. During these weeks, I posted several posts and I got comments. I felt this is not true analytics data. First, I suspected that Google Analytics was in unable. I heard some troubles on Gmail service then I felt so. But this was not true. This trouble was depend on me... I checked my blog. Then I got the reason that why Google Analytics couldn’t tracking visitors of my blog. There’s no tracking code on my blog... I changed my blog a little bit and I think, I made mistake on these changes. Then I added tracking code again. So, now I can check analytics data. I hope I will not make such a mistake again. Thank you. Good day & Peace and Smile!

Maneki neko

Turn on the radio in the morning is one of my daily routines. Of course, I turned on the radio this morning too. Sometimes, I can get new things through the radio. I could get the latest news from radio too. But I can get other things too.

This morning, I heard about the Maneki neko day. Today is the Maneki neko(招き猫) day. Maneki neko is Japanese Engimono(縁起物). Engimono are items that invite happiness or good fortune. There's many engimono in Japan. And Maneki neko is decorated figure of seating cat. The cat is holding up one hand.

There's two type of Maneki neko. The one is holding up right hand. This Maneki neko invite economic fortune. Another one is holding up left hand. This one invite people. Then some restaurants decorating Maneki neko. I don't know exactly about its colors, but there's some colors and it have different meanings I heard.

I wish I could upload some photos of Maneki neko but I couldn't find Maneki neko today...

Thank you.

restart

My college started the 2nd term from today. And I already took 2 classes today. In the morning, there's some trouble that are related to swine flu. One of the student in our college caught swine flu last week.. Then teachers & professors of our college held conference this morning. But there's no effect for most of students except the class on first period delayed about 20 minutes. We took classes as usual like we did on 1st term.

Most of us worked as an intern for companies or laboratories during our summer vacation. And most of them finished their work. But we need to make presentation about our internship on 2nd November. I've already made powerpoint and paper in the company.

We can make presentation in Japanese on 2nd, November. But there's one more time to make presentation in English. It's one of the homework of English class. We need to send English version of manuscript and Japanese version of manuscript by next Monday...

Of course, I'm not ready to do that yet. So, I should do this right now... lol

Thank you.

Kamakura trip

Yesterday, I went to Kamakura with my friend. Kamakura is an ancient capital city in Kanagawa prefecture. I think, Kamakura is the nearest city from Tokyo that we can learn a lot about history of Japan. There are many temples, shrines and the great buddha. Minamoto no Yoritomo built Kamakura as capital city in 1192. Most of Japanese learned about this in elementary school and junior-high school. But there's other opinions that the Kamakura started in 1180 or in 1185. But I learned that the Kamakura started in 1192. It's easy to recognize.

Yesterday was really nice weather. There's only a few clouds in the sky... We visited Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu(鶴岡八幡宮), Kenchoji temple(建長寺), Enkakuji temple(円覚寺), Zeniarai Benzaiten shrine(銭洗弁財天), the great buddha of Kamakura(鎌倉大仏) and Enoshima(江ノ島). The silver week had overed but there's many visitors. But I felt there's many foreigners than Japanese visitors. I took over hundred of photos there. I'm planning to upload some photos to flickr and my facebook account. But it might be tough work for me... lol

I will announce when I upload photos.

Anyway, the photo on top is the great buddha of Kamakura.

Thank you.
Good day & Peace and Smile.

Silver week

Today is the final day of my internship. Also I needed to clean out my
room in the dormitory this morning. Of course, I did it this morning I
packed my luggage and cleaned out my room.

4 weeks I've been in the internship. During my internship I could
learn a lot. I hope that I can put this experience to good account.

BTW the silver week will begin from Saturday in Japan. Series of
holidays in Japan. In May there's the golden week so this is the
silver week. I hope the bronze week would come to us soon... lol

Of course, there's no bronze week... Anyway, the silver week appears
not in every year. Next year there's no silver week. I'll write about
that as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Extra issue

This is not extra issue this is regular issue. But yesterday, I found
the person who was passing out the extra issue of newspaper. I
couldn't get it because many people were trying to get that. There
were too many people so, I gave up to get it.

I couldn't get it but I could know the headline of that extra issue. I
forgot the exact title of that extra issue but that was "the Hatoyama
cabinet inaugurated".

On 30th August, the DPJ won over 300 seats in the House of
Representatives. And on 15th September, Taro Aso retired from his
position Japan's prime minister and Yukio Hatoyama inaugurated as
Japan's prime minister.

I heard that his paper looks anti-American. The NEw York Times and
some other newspapers issued his paper with radical title. But I
didn't feel so. I felt that he wanted to say in the paper is not anti-
American. He just pointed that the globalization that the United
States lead was too excessive.

Anyway, I have some claims for the new cabinet. But today I'm not
going to write my claims for the new cabinet. If I have a time, I want
to write it.

Thank you.

Rainy

Yesterday was rainy day... And temperature was a little low. I needed jacket to go outside. But today's weather looks nice. There are some clouds in the sky but no rain.

Anyway, on Monday one Japanese baseball player hit a new record of MLB. Ichiro hit over 200 hits every year in this 9 years after he has started to play in MLB. He is not playing in Japan right now but he is still popular in Japan, of course.

I don't know the people in the United States but we were looking forward to his 200th hit in this season. I couldn't see the game on Monday but I checked it through Internet. Do you like baseball?

Thank you.

A week

I'm still in the dormitory and I'm keep posting my blog from my iPhone
every weekday. I used my MacBook when I come back to home. At that
time I uploaded some photos or videos on server because I can't upload
videos from my iPhone... (My iPhone is not iPhone 3GS...)

I need to send mail to the server to post new article. Sometimes I
send the article with photo. But these days I can't send article with
photo. Only the photo that I attatched would be published and there's
no text that I wrote... So I need to edit the post to add the text. If
you know how to post new article with photo successfully, please tell
me...lol

BTW my internship will be finished in this week. I need to presentate
what I did during my internship on Thursday... I think, I could learn
a lot during my internship. If you have a chance, you should try it!
Anyway, I have 4 more days to stay in the dormitory. During these 4
days I will continue to post new articles with my iPhone on every
weekday!

Thank you.

TOEIC

Yesterday, I took a TOEIC test. If I could take over 800 points, I
don't have to attend English classes in my college. I might take extra
4 hours of free time in every week. But to realize it, I need to take
over 800 points in the TOEIC test.

I wrote about my mock test that held in June. At that time I took
nearly 800 points (795-885). Then I might get over 800 this time. But
I don't know my result yet, of course. I need to wait about a month...

Thank you.

technologies in the midnight

There's time differences, of course. On Thursday at 2 a.m. (JST), Apple announced new iPod series in CA. 24 hours after that event, JAXA launched their new rocket H-2B at 2.01 a.m.

I didn't bring my MacBook to my dormitory then I couldn't access to the internet easily. I found some sites that were following this event. They always follow Apple's events and they post liveblog on real-time. They also posted liveblog the launch of H-2B. But I need to wake up early in the morning. Then I gave up to check these site.

In this internet age, we can get many information easily on the internet. But if you have no internet connection, it's hard to get information from all over the world quickly.

Thank you.

Beer and soccer

Yesterday, I watched international soccer game Japan vs Ghana with my friend. The game held in the Netherlands then we watched it on TV of course. But there's no TV in our room of the dormitory. And I can't watch one-seg(ワンセグ)...

Fortunately, my friend have an one-seg receiver and wide-screen laptop PC. Then we watched the game in his room.

In first 45 minutes Ghana got a point and Japan couldn't get point... We talked about the other game that held also in the Netherlands. That was Japan vs the Netherlands on Sunday. (I forgot the exact day... It might be on Saturday...) At that time Japan lost the game with no goal... We felt 'they might lose the game again...'.

During the half time we went to the first floor of the dormitory to buy a canned beer. There are some vending machines in this dormitory. There's soft drinks and alcholic drinks. This is the first time to buy something in the dormitory but I chose beer. I believe that the beer would be nice when we watch sports.

Anyway, after we came back from shopping, the last 45 minutes would start in a few minutes. At that time we talked about the time difference. The time differnce between Tokyo and Amsterdam is 7 hours. The game started at 19.00 in JST, so they played around noon in the Netherlands.

The last 45 minutes, Japan got 1 goal but Ghana got 2 more goals... I felt they really lose the game again. But this time, they changed the situation. They got 3 more goals in 20 minutes. (I think, they started to get goals in 70 minutes.) I couldn't believe it first time. But we're happy because Japan won the game!

After the game we realized that the one-seg is not suitable for sports. The motion of one-seg is really slow then sometimes we missed the ball. And the original size of one-seg is really small then we can't know who is playing even we expand into the wide-screen. Next time I want to watch it on really wide-screen with high resolution or in the stadium.

Thank you.

Presentation

Half of my internship have finished. My internship will finish in 10
days... On Monday, I had a presentation to introduce what I did in
half of my internship. There's no time limitation then I presentated
about an hour. (Of course, including Q and A section) I've never
presentated such a long time. And I felt the difference. I usually
presentate in my college this is mostly for other students and
teachers. But this time it's different. I need to presentate for my
bosses in the company and college and 先輩(upper-class student)
in my laboratory.

After the presentation, we went to go out for 飲み会(drink
party?). And talked about job hunting, economics and etc... Anyway, I
could enjoy it. I have 10 days to go to the company and I will have a
presentation again on the last day.

Thank you.

They want to be British

I found the commercial message that I like. This is commercial message of hair dressing product in Japan. This is latest product then I've not tried it yet. But next time I will try to use it.

In this commercial message, 4 men in London and playing like the Beatles, I felt. I don't know exactly about this product yet. But this might sell only in Japan. So, this commercial message is only for Japan.

I want to introduce this commercial message on my blog then I added English subtitles on this video. Of course, I'm still studying English then there's some mistakes on my English subtitles... If you find it, please tell me.

Thank you.

TOEIC with mask

I got the admission ticket of TOEIC when I came back to home. But before that I got email from TOEIC. According to the email, examinees who's condition is not good should to pass this time. And examinees must wear masks during the test because to prevent H1N1 swine flu.

In Japan, swine flu virus spreading day by day. According to the Infectious Disease Surveillance Center, swine flu may infected over 150,000 people in Japan since May. And I heard that 10 people died. Most of schools in Japan have started their new term in September. But more than 380 schools or classes haven't started their new term yet because to prevent swine flu.

My college haven't started the new term yet because we're still in summer vacation. Our college will start the new term on 28th September. I hope that my college would start new term exactly 28th September.

How about your school (or company)?

Thank you.

26 minutes

If I ride on the train right now, I can get to 江ノ島(Enoshima)
in 26 minutes. I'm in such a place. But I'm not planning to go to
Enoshima because I don't have a much time to enjoy there.

On weekdays, I go to the company as internship. Then I always back to
the dormitory after at 18.00. Then I can't see sea if I go there...
But on weekends, I always come back to my real house then I can't get
to Enoshima in 26 minutes even I use the train...

But I have 2 weeks to stay in the dormitory then I might go there
during my stay. But I might not go there during my stay... lol

Anyway, I will upload some photos on flickr if I really go to the
Enoshima. lol

Thank you.

taspo

Usually, I read newspaper every morning. My parent is subscribing the
Yomiuri Shimbun (the major newspaper in Japan). So, I read it in every
morning. And I read its evening paper when I come back. But during my
stay in the dormitory, I can't read it. I'm not planning to subscribe
the Yomiuri Shimbun here because I come back to home on weekends and
my internship will be finished in 2 and half weeks. But I found the
best way to read newspaper. I can read it newspaper on my iPhone.

The Sankei Shimbun is issuing their morning paper everyday for iPhone
too. They developed application for iPhone so, we can read the Sankei
Shimbun for free! Then I downloaded it and I read the Sankei Shimbun
every morning.

Anyway, I read it too yesterday morning. At that time, I found the
article about 'taspo'. Then I'll write about that today.

There are 26,010,000 smokers in Japan by estimate. But I am not
smoker. I sometimes feel that there are too many under age smokers in
Japan even the taspo cards were introduced...

'Taspo' cards were introduced in Japan in July 2008 to prevent under
age smoking. But I heard it need a long time to issue it and we need
our ID card to issue it. After July 2008, smokers can't buy tobacco in
tobacco vending machines without their own taspo card. But they can
buy it in convenience stores without taspo cards. So over 60% of
smokers in Japan don't have their own taspo card. And because of that
many under age smokers can buy tobacco easily, I think.

But because of the taspo card, many tobacco vending machines
disappeared. According to the Sankei Shimbun, 15,000 of tobacco
vending machines disappeared in a year. But there's 409,000 of tobacco
vending machines still...

Taspo cards are equipped with the electronic money function. Then
users don't have to bring their wallet to buy tobacco in tobacco
vending machines with taspo card. Of course, they need to deposit
money into taspo card... Taspo cards include such a useful function
but many smokers are tend to buy tobacco in the convenience stores.
And tobacco vending machines might be disappeared in a few years...

Thank you.

the result

These days, I got the notification from the Japanese red cross society. Japanese red cross society is the organization that is holding blood donation in nation wide. This notification is one of their service for blood donor, I think.

There're 15 topics and these are the barometers of my health. I donated my blood 11th August, last time. Then this notification might come to me about a week after. According to the notification, my body is healthy. And some barometers improved from last time. I donated my blood in March, 2007 before.

This barometers are good for me to maintain my healthy body. Then I hope I can keep my body healthy.. :)

emergency drill

86 years ago, today is the day of Kanto area hit by the Great Kanto
Earthquake. In the Great Kanto Earthquake nearly 100,000 people died,
I heard. To remark that 1st September is the National Disaster
Prevention Day.

These years many companies, schools and autonomies conduct emergency
drill on this day. But this year, 1st September is Tuesday then some
automies conducted it on other day. I heard some of them conducted it
on 30th August.

But sometimes I feel these kinds of emergency drills are becoming to
manualized...

Thank you.
